Mohammed Zeyad Al-Rahel, 5 years old, was killed in his bedroom on Saturday July 19, 2014, by an Israeli airstrike against his home, in Al-Zaitoun, in Beit Lahia. His uncle Mohammed Rafiq Ahmed al-Rahel, 18 years old, was killed in the same attack. Mohammed Zeyad’s father, mother, brother, sister, uncle and grandmother were critically injured and hospitalized.
Mohammed loved to play football (soccer) and participated in Dabkeh dancing at the World Vision Child Friendly Spaces.
“His mom expressed her devastation noting how she was looking forward to him starting school in August. Her dream was for her son to grow up and become a doctor. Unfortunately, he didn’t live to fulfill her dreams, or his.”
