THE FACTUAL NARRATIVE:
Ahmed Abu Sweireh and Mohammed Haroun were not killed in a bombing of a refugee camp. They were killed while on a military mission, they were about to fire a Kornet anti-tank missile. They were specifically targeted and killed. It was not a bombing of the refugee camp that killed them, “in a bombing in the western part of the refugee camp“.

“KILLED … IN A BOMBING ….” is a trope used several times in the B’Tselem databases
B’TSELEM’S USE OF THE TROPE
DEFINITION
A trope is a theme or plot element used many times, it creates recurrent images that influence an audience’s senses helping a writer achieve a desired effect. The meaning of the text is not literal, it is figurative.
B’TSELEM’S USE OF THE TROPE, “KILLED IN A BOMBING”
“Killed in a bombing” or some version of it, is a trope used by the B’Tselem databases, it is literally not true. It is a figurative theme or plot element used several times in their databases. The metaphorical use of this expression achieves the following effect: It adds the element of victimization to the narrative. It implies that the Palestinian terror operative combatant was one of several victims killed in the bombing of civilians in a refugee camp. It implies that an area was targeted, not a specific individual, a terror operative.
The B’Tselem trope creates an image of a refugee camp being bombed with civilian casualties. There is no reference to the targeting of the terror operative combatants or why they were specifically targeted. The narrative merely contains a figurative expression to account for the death of the Palestinian combatants. The trope does what it is suppose to do, achieve a desired effect and influence the reader’s senses
VICTIMIZATION
As previously stated, the B’Tselem databases create the illusion that Palestinian combatants killed by the Israeli security apparatus are victims, victims of an “occupier“. The Ahmed Abu Sweireh and Mohammed Haroun narratives are an example of this misinformation.
Sweireh and Haroun, B’Tselem states, were killed in a bombing in a refugee camp, “in a bombing in the western part of the refugee camp“. By using this trope, B’Tselem raises the issue of moral legitimacy, that Israel does not adhere to conventionally accepted standards of conduct. A bombing in a refugee camp suggests the targeting and killing of civilians, a war crime.
The B’Tselem narrative, however, is patently false. In the case of Sweireh and Haroun, the trope conceals why they were killed and what they were doing when specifically targeted and killed. They were not killed in a bombing in the western part of a refugee camp. The two terror operative combatants were on a military mission, they were preparing to attack Israeli military vehicles with a Kornet anti-tank missile when they were specifically targeted and killed. They did not die “in a bombing” of an area in a refugee camp, in the western part of the a-Nuseirat refugee camp.
The trope, “killed in a bombing“, misrepresents the truth. In effect, it has defined Sweireh and Haroun as victims.
Ahmed Abu Sweireh and Mohammed Haroun, the terror operative combatants, re-imagined by B’Tselem as the victims.
While the B’Tselem databases have re-imagined Palestinian terror operative combatants as victims, the U.S. Department of Justice has identified who the truthful victims were, they closed down a Hamas fundraising scheme and will redirect the Hamas assets to the factual victims, the victims of their terrorism. The event documented below occurred in August 2020:
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE SEIZURE
The original Humanize Palestine website memorialized Hamas and al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives, and B’Tselem represented them as victims, Ahmed Abu Sweireh and Mohammed Haroun are two examples.
Now the real victims have been identified. The U.S. Department of Justice has seized al-Qassam Brigades assets, funds and websites, used to finance their terror campaigns. The monies will be directed to the United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund.
