B’Tselem is an Israeli human rights NGO that, in its own words, “acts primarily to change Israeli policy in the Occupied territories and ensure that its government, which rules the Occupied Territories, protects the human rights of residents there and complies with its obligations under international law.”

B’Tselem makes the following statement on its website:
“Israel’s regime of occupation is inextricably bound up in human rights violations. B’Tselem strives to end the occupation, as that is the only way forward to a future in which human rights, democracy, liberty and equality are ensured to all people, both Palestinian and Israeli, living between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.”

The NGO has created databases of martyred Palestinians, fatalities that some argue, it uses tacitly to support its argument that the State of Israel is systemically involved in violating Palestinian human rights.

The databases include Palestinians killed by the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip, and Palestinians killed by Israeli security forces in the West Bank and Israel. There are Palestinian fatalities arranged by date and conflict, since Operation Cast Lead – 2009-2020, during Operation Protective Edge, during Operation Cast Lead, and fatalities before Operation Cast Lead.

A significant number of records in the B’Tselem databases cited above contain false narratives and/or misrepresent facts.

The original Humanize Palestine domain which has been reproduced by this website, was primarily devoted to memorializing martyred Palestinian terror operatives. It was able to do this by presenting false narratives, pictures and text, that concealed their Foreign Terrorist Organization affiliations. B’Tselem, in certain instances, has done the same thing, utilizing false narratives to conceal terror organization affiliations. B’Tselem, however, in most cases, does correctly identify the deceased individuals as either having belonged to a terror organization or as a civilian casualty of war, and while this is true, their databases also employ false narratives but for for a purpose unlike that of Humanize Palestine. The B’Tselem’s false narratives are used to re-imagine Palestinian terror operative combatants as victims. Humanize Palestine MEMORIALIZES Palestinian terror operative combatants, B’Tselem turns them into VICTIMS. This victimization is enabled by their use of tropes.

The B’Tselem databases employ tropes to conceal and misrepresent reality and the truth. This technique has allowed the NGO to present deceased Palestinians as victims, both terrorist and civilian, all victims of Israeli policy, human rights abuses and war crimes being just two examples.

The victimization narrative is not obvious when first examining the B’Tselem database records. It becomes abundantly clear when comparing the information in their database records with facts found on internet websites, Arabic, Hebrew and English websites. It is the Arabic terror organization websites that are the most useful in discrediting the narratives in the B’Tselem database records.

The martyred Palestinians listed below appear in both a B’Tselem database AND on the original Humanize Palestine website. Clicking on a name will open a webpage that contains two contrasting narratives, the B’Tselem narrative and the truthful narrative. After viewing each webpage, B’Tselem’s concealment and victimization strategy will become obvious.
