He has become one of the most wanted Israeli intelligence agencies since 1991, and has spent nine months in the occupation jails and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) jails for three and a half years.

Israeli intelligence accused Abu al-Shamal of killing an Israeli officer in Rafah in 1994, planning operations by digging tunnels in 2004, and planning the operation that took place at the Kerem Salem Crossing (south of the Gaza Strip) in 2008, where the “Jibat” (four-wheel drive) and car bombs were detonated, causing 13 soldiers were injured. “
What accuses him of standing behind Operation Karam Abu Salim in 2006, in which two soldiers were killed, during which Gilad Shalit (released in 2011) was captured, in addition to being charged with military operations during the current military campaign, including responsibility for the infiltration of 13 Qsamya through a tunnel to the sofa area south of St. Sector slavery.
Israel also accuses him of building a large military system in Rafah and responsibility for the ongoing planning of the families of Israeli soldiers to exchange Palestinian prisoners.
Israeli media have described Mohammed Abu Shamal as one of the most prominent leaders to take over the Qassam leadership after Israel assassinated the deputy commander of the al-Qassam Brigades Ahmed al-Ja’bari in 2012.
An Israeli raid on a residential building in Tal al-Sultan neighborhood in the west of Rafah blew up on Thursday (August 21st) August 2014, with his colleagues Mohammed Hamdan Barhoum and Raed al-Attar quoting him.

HAMAS / IZZ AL-DIN AL-QASSAM BRIGADES FUNDRAISING SCHEME
Prior to August 2020, the Hamas and Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades websites had a green banner at the top of their home page. This is how the home page of Hamas’ TV station, al-Aqsa TV, appeared on March 16, 2020:
Note the green banner at the top of the page:
The green banner contained an embedded URL that linked to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades website. Clicking on the green banner would open this webpage:
This was a fund raising scheme utilizing cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, to underwrite its terrorism (“resistance”). Note that the solicitation is in English. This would indicate that the fund raising scheme not only targeted Arabic speaking countries but English speaking western countries as well, such as the U.S.
In August 2020, the U.S. government seized the website, funds and assets:
