Bashir Ibrahim Muhammad al-Hajar
48 years old, resident of Jabalya, North Gaza District, killed on 29 Jul 2014 in Jabalya, North Gaza District, by a shell. Did not participate in hostilities. Additional information: Killed together with his brother while riding in an UNRWA car in the a-Na’jah neighborhood. The shelling also killed a baby girl and a 15-year-old boy in their homes.

Additional information: Killed with his brother while riding in an UNRWA car in the neighborhood of Bir a-Na’jah . A baby girl and a 15-year-old boy were killed in their homes in the shelling.

THE FACTUAL NARRATIVE:

Dr Bashir al-Hajjar died alongside his younger brother Muneer during the strike in Beer al-Naja in the north of the region. They were travelling in a marked United Nations Relief and Works Agency car when shells landed in front of it and on its bonnet.
Relatives told the M.E.N. how Dr al-Hajjar, a father-of-one, died instantly – while Muneer, who worked for the UN, lived for six minutes as he begged rescuers to help his brother and not him.
Muneer’s eight-year-old son, also in the vehicle, survived but has been left with serious leg injuries.

Our martyr, the mujahid, [Bashir] joined the ranks of the Islamic Jihad movement from a young age and was arrested by the occupation forces on the grounds of his political affiliation, and then he continued the path of resistance through his scientific research that focused on the homeland and the Zionist attacks on the Palestinians to expose the occupation on the global level.

THE FACTS
FACT #1
Muneer and Bashir al-Hajjar were traveling in an UNRWA car. The vehicle was targeted with precision weapons. Bashir was killed in the vehicle and an 8 year old child in the vehicle was wounded but not killed. Muneer exited the vehicle and was killed within several minutes by another precision weapon.
A baby girl and a 15 year old boy were not killed in their home during the strike on the UNRWA vehicle. Precision weapons, missiles, were used in this targeted strike so that there would be no harm to any civilians in the area. No mention of a baby girl and a 15 year old boy killed in any of the news accounts.
FACT #2
Bashir al-Hajjar was a terror operative affiliated with a U.S. designated Foreign Terrorist Organization, Palestinian Islamic Jihad. He had been a member of the Islamic Jihad Movement from a young age.

SUMMARY
Bashir al-Hajjar and his brother, Muneer al-Hajjar were members of a Foreign Terrorist Organization, Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Bashir and Muneer were targeted with precision weapons while in an UNRWA vehicle. They were killed but a child in the car with them was not, he was wounded.
