PREFACE
The original HUMANIZE PALESTINE website wrote about four martyred Palestinian engineers who died in separate incidents during the 2014 Gaza war, each involving a unique set of circumstances, totally unrelated to each other. One, Hani al-Hallaq, was targeted by the IDF in his apartment; a second, Munir al-Hajjar, was targeted in a UN vehicle; a third, Ibrahim al-Kilani, was killed in a Gaza City office tower where he and his family were on the same floor as Sha’aban Dachdouch, a senior PIJ operative, the target of the strike; and a fourth, Akram al-Skafi, was the senior member of a prominent PIJ household who died with 7 members of his family, all terror operative combatants, when they were targeted. It would appear as if none of these individuals had anything in common other than being engineers and dying as the result of an IDF targeted strike during the 2014 Gaza war. But this is not true, they all had two other things in common: (1) Each of their deaths had a unique nexus with Palestinian terror organizations, and (2) they were all members of the The Syndicate of Engineers in Gaza Governorates.
In addition to the four engineers cited above, there were six additional Palestinian engineers that died in the 2014 Gaza war, each with a very obvious terror nexus, they were all members of Hamas. In total, ten Palestinian engineers died in the 2014 Gaza war and they were all members of The Syndicate of Engineers in Gaza Governorates.
In May 2021, nine more Palestinian engineers were killed in a conflict with the IDF, they were all members of Hamas and they were all members of The Syndicate of Engineers in Gaza Governorates. Based on the events of 2014 and 2021, it would appear as if a Palestinian engineer has a unique calling, “a strong inner impulse toward a particular course of action especially when accompanied by conviction of divine influence”. ●Jamal Muhammad Sayid Abd al-Rahman al-Zebda (Abu Usama), 64, was a senior lecturer in the IUG’s engineering faculty. He had a PhD in mechanical engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. In 1994 he returned to the Gaza Strip and began teaching at IUG. In 2006 he joined a team of engineers working in secret for the Izz al-Din Qassam Brigades, developing weapons. According to reports he headed the rocket program. In 2012, during the final hours of Operation Pillar of Defense, he escaped a targeted killing attack (al-Akhbar, May 22, 2021).
●His studies on aerodynamics and the delta wing (used mainly in fighter jets) served for the manufacture of various fighter jets, including the F-35, and were published in journals and scientific literature, forming the basis for the development of aircraft engines. He was a close associate of Muhammad al-Deif, who led the team and worked closely with him.
●Al-Zebda taught an entire generation of engineers at the Islamic University, and recruited many of them to join the military wing’s program for the development of weapons and equipment, mainly rockets and UAVs (al-Akhbar, May 22, 2021). He was joined by his son, Usama al-Zebda, 39 (or 33), who had American citizenship and was also an engineer,. Usama worked with his father developing rockets, and was killed in the same attack.

هذه سيرة شهيد أردني بـ”سيف القدس” ترك شركاته وأمواله لاجل المقاومة
في منطقة عبدون غرب عمان، استقبلتنا عائلة الشهيد الأردني جمعة الطحلة أبو مجاهد بالفخر والفرح الممزوج بألم الفراق، يتقبلون التهاني بشهادة والدهم، فـ”الشهداء أحياء عند ربهم يرزقون” كما تقول زوجته، ورغم مرور أكثر من 10 أيام على استشهاده فما زالت الوفود تُقدم لعائلته التهاني.
وتقول الزوجة أم مجاهد للجزيرة نت “عاش حياته مولعا بالجهاد والمجاهدين”، وتضيف أن زوجها شارك في شبابه في الحرب بعد اجتياح إسرائيل لبنان عام 1982، لينتقل بعدها للمشاركة مع المجاهدين العرب في حرب أفغانستان حتى عام 1989، وصولا للتصنيع العسكري والأمن السيبراني والحرب الإلكترونية في كتائب القسام.
تعود أصول الطحلة (59 عاما) لمدينة الرملة الساحلية التي تم تهجير عائلته منها عام 1948، فعاش حياته لاجئا بالأردن، وبقي متمسكا بحقه في العودة لأرض آبائه، حتى لقي الله شهيدا في معركة “سيف القدس” في آخر يوم من أيام شهر رمضان المبارك.
تعرض الطحلة -وفق زوجته التي رافقته في غزة لسنوات- لعدة محاولات اغتيال من قوات الاحتلال، حيث كان حتى استشهاده المسؤول عن جهاز الأمن السيبراني والتطوير الإلكتروني في الجناح العسكري لحركة المقاومة الإسلامية (حماس).
حرب اجتياح لبنان
ولد الشهيد الطحلة عام 1962، ودرس الهندسة في الجامعة الأردنية، ويقول مجاهد ابن الشهيد للجزيرة نت إن والده “نشأ في مدرسة الإخوان المسلمين، وتربى على يد القادة يوسف العظم وعبد الله عزام ومحمد أبو فارس، وتعلم منهم حب الجهاد والاستشهاد، وزاد من تعلقه بالجهاد تأثره بقصص والديه حول النكبة واللجوء، واستشهاد شقيقه الأكبر في ستينيات القرن الماضي بعد انضمامه للثورة الفلسطينية”.
وتابع “أول معركة شارك بها كانت في التصدي للاجتياح الإسرائيلي لجنوب لبنان عام 1982، حيث شارك مع المقاتلين هناك واكتسب من المشاركة في المواجهات خبرات قتالية في مواجهة العدو، ومعرفة باستخدام الأسلحة المتنوعة”.
دفعه حبه للجهاد -وفق زوجته- للسفر إلى باكستان عام 1983 للمشاركة مع المجاهدين العرب في حرب أفغانستان بقيادة الشهيد عبد الله عزام، وبقي هناك عدة سنوات ليعود بعدها للأردن، ويتخصص في مجال البناء لعدة سنوات، وانتقل بعدها للعمل في دولة الإمارات وأسس شركة للمقاولات هناك.
التصنيع العسكري
في عام 2005، عاد الطحلة للجهاد تاركا شركته وأعماله، ولكن هذه المرة في التصنيع العسكري -حسب أم مجاهد- وسافر إلى سوريا للمشاركة في تطوير أسلحة كتائب عز الدين القسام وأساليبها القتالية.
وتتابع “طلبت قيادة حركة حماس في سوريا منه العمل في قسم التصنيع العسكري للحركة في دمشق، فقرر ترك عمله بالإمارات والمغادرة إلى هناك في 2005 للعمل في مجالات التصميم والتصنيع والبرامج الإلكترونية وغيرها.
استمر في العمل هناك عدة سنوات -حسب أم مجاهد- وفي عام 2009 طلبت منه قيادة الحركة السفر إلى قطاع غزة، وفي طريقه إلى هناك اعتقله الأمن المصري وأودعه سجن أبو زعبل، قبل أن يخرج من السجن بعد سقوط نظام مبارك عام 2011 إثر “ثورة يناير”.
تمكّن الطحلة من إكمال طريقه نحو قطاع غزة ليستقر هناك، “ويبدأ مرحلة جديدة من الجهاد”، وفقا لزوجته أم مجاهد.
الأمن السيبراني
استقر الطحلة في غزة منذ عام 2011، واستكمل هناك مشواره في الأمن السيبراني والتصنيع العسكري.
يقول ابنه فارس “عمل والدي في تصنيع وتطوير الصواريخ وقوتها التدميرية، وتصنيع طائرات الاستطلاع والمراقبة، وصولا إلى تطوير البرامج المتعلقة بالحرب الإلكترونية والأمن السيبراني والتطوير العلمي في كتائب القسام”.
شاركته عائلته السكن مدة من الزمن في قطاع غزة، وتقول زوجته “حضرنا الحرب الإسرائيلية على قطاع غزة عام 2014، وتم استهداف البيت الذي كنا نسكنه بصاروخ دخل لغرفة النوم لكنه لم ينفجر، وكنا نتنقل بسيارات يتم استهدافها بعد مغادرتنا منها”.
أم مجاهد ومحطات زوجها الشهيد
رافقت أم مجاهد زوجها لباكستان خلال مشاركته مع المجاهدين العرب في الحرب بأفغانستان، وشغل الطحلة منصب رئيس مكتب خدمات المجاهدين العرب في باكستان، وبقي هناك حتى عام 1992.
كما رافقته عندما انتقل لدمشق للمشاركة في تطوير قدرات كتائب القسام، كما رافقته في رحلته إلى قطاع غزة لوقت من الزمن، وحضرت معه حرب 2014، وكانت شاهدة على محاولة لاغتياله.
تتكون عائلة الشهيد الطحلة -إضافة إلى زوجته- من 4 أولاد وبنت واحدة، وتقول إنها تلقت نبأ استشهاده بـ”الفخر والفرح المخلوط بالحزن على فراقه وعدم وداعه والمشاركة في تشييع جنازته”، وفقا لابنه فارس، الذي يضيف “ومما يخفف عني ألم الفراق، أنه والمقاتلين معه استطاعوا زلزلة أمن الكيان الصهيوني، ودك المستوطنات على بعد 250 كيلومترا، من شمال فلسطين وحتى جنوبها، فقد استطاعت المقاومة مواجهة هذا الكيان الغاصب وجيشه الهش، في حين تعجز دول عن مواجهته”.
وخلال مهرجان نظمته الحركة الإسلامية الجمعة الماضي في منطقة الأغوار الحدودية مع فلسطين، احتفالا بانتصار المقاومة، كرّم المنظمون عائلة الشهيد جمعة الطحلة.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
This is the biography of a Jordanian martyr with “Saif Al-Quds” who left his companies and money for the sake of the resistance
In the Abdoun area, west of Amman, the family of the Jordanian martyr Juma Al-Tahla Abu Mujahid welcomed us with pride and joy mixed with the pain of separation. Congratulations.
The wife, Umm Mujahid, told Al Jazeera Net, “He lived his life fond of jihad and the mujahideen,” and she adds that her husband participated in his youth in the war after Israel invaded Lebanon in 1982, then moved to participate with the Arab mujahideen in the Afghanistan war until 1989, leading to military industrialization, cyber security and electronic warfare in Al-Qassam Brigades.
Al-Tahla (59 years old) is from the coastal city of Ramle, from which his family was displaced in 1948. He lived his life as a refugee in Jordan, and remained committed to his right to return to the land of his forefathers, until God met a martyr in the battle of “Saif al-Quds” on the last day of the blessed month of Ramadan.
According to his wife, who accompanied him in Gaza for years, al-Tahla was subjected to several assassination attempts by the occupation forces, as until his death he was responsible for the cybersecurity and electronic development in the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
War of Invasion of Lebanon
The martyr Al-Tahla was born in 1962, and studied engineering at the University of Jordan. Mujahid Ibn Al-Shaheed told Al-Jazeera Net that his father “was raised in the school of the Muslim Brotherhood, and he was raised by the leaders Youssef Al-Azm, Abdullah Azzam and Muhammad Abu Faris, and he learned from them the love of jihad and martyrdom, and increased his attachment to jihad. He was influenced by his parents’ stories about the Nakba and asylum, and the martyrdom of his older brother in the 1960s after he joined the Palestinian revolution.”
He continued, “The first battle he participated in was in confronting the Israeli invasion of southern Lebanon in 1982, where he participated with the fighters there and gained from participating in the confrontations combat experience in the face of the enemy, and knowledge of the use of various weapons.”
His love for jihad prompted him – according to his wife – to travel to Pakistan in 1983 to participate with the Arab Mujahideen in the Afghanistan war led by the martyr Abdullah Azzam.
Military Manufacturing
In 2005, al-Tahla returned to the jihad, leaving his company and his business, but this time in the military industrialization – according to Umm Mujahid – and traveled to Syria to participate in the development of the weapons and methods of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades.
And she continues, “The Hamas leadership in Syria asked him to work in the movement’s military manufacturing department in Damascus, so he decided to leave his work in the UAE and leave there in 2005 to work in the fields of design, manufacturing, electronic programs and others.
He continued to work there for several years – according to Umm Mujahid – and in 2009 the movement’s leadership asked him to travel to the Gaza Strip, and on his way there the Egyptian security arrested him and put him in Abu Zaabal prison, before he was released from prison after the fall of the Mubarak regime in 2011 following the “January Revolution.”
Al-Tahla managed to complete his way to the Gaza Strip to settle there, and “begin a new phase of jihad,” according to his wife, Umm Mujahid.
Cyber Security
Al-Tahla has settled in Gaza since 2011, where he completed his career in cybersecurity and military industrialization.
His son Fares says, “My father worked in the manufacture and development of missiles and their destructive power, and the manufacture of reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft, leading to the development of programs related to electronic warfare, cybersecurity and scientific development in the Qassam Brigades.”
His family shared with him housing for a period of time in the Gaza Strip, and his wife says, “We attended the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip in 2014, and the house we lived in was targeted by a missile that entered the bedroom, but it did not explode, and we were traveling in cars that were targeted after we left.”
Umm Mujahid and the Stations of her Martyr Husband
Umm Mujahid accompanied her husband to Pakistan during his participation with the Arab Mujahideen in the war in Afghanistan, and Al-Tahla held the position of head of the Arab Mujahideen Services Office in Pakistan, and he remained there until 1992.
She also accompanied him when he moved to Damascus to participate in developing the capabilities of the Al-Qassam Brigades, and accompanied him on his trip to the Gaza Strip for a period of time, and attended the 2014 war with him, and witnessed an attempt to assassinate him.
The family of the martyr Al-Tahla – in addition to his wife – consists of 4 sons and one girl, and she says that she received the news of his martyrdom with “pride and joy mixed with sadness over his separation and his failure to say goodbye and to participate in his funeral”, according to his son Faris, who adds, “It relieves me of the pain of separation, that And the fighters with him were able to shake the security of the Zionist entity and demolish the settlements 250 kilometers away, from north to south of Palestine. The resistance was able to confront this usurping entity and its fragile army, while countries are unable to confront it.”
During a festival organized by the Islamic movement last Friday in the Jordan Valley border area with Palestine, to celebrate the victory of the resistance, the organizers honored the family of the martyr Juma al-Tahla.

The Engineers Syndicate in Gaza Governorates mourns its martyrs
The Engineers Syndicate in the Gaza Governorates, represented by its captain, M. Kanaan Obaid, and members of the boards of directors of the Engineers Syndicate mourned their martyrs, who were engineers who met the fate of the righteous and were martyred at the hands of the brutal aggression during the last aggression on Gaza, which lasted for more than 50 days.

Shahida Al-Qasami Amjad was known for his excellence in academic achievement, he was a lover of science and learning, obtained a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, then enrolled in the Faculty of Management and Politics for graduate studies to obtain a master’s degree in leadership and management, and he told his supervisor that he wished to testify for God instead of a master’s degree, and one of the classrooms was named after him in his distinguished biography and loyalty to him, and was interactive with the activities of the Islamic bloc in the various stages of his studies.

(7) AKRAM AL-SKAFI
Akram al-Skafi was the senior member of a terrorist family:
Seven members of the al-Skafi family were terror operative combatants that were martyred during the 2014 Gaza war. They all died together with Akram al-Skafi when their house was targeted during the Gaza conflict. Their story is documented on this website and can be seen by clicking HERE.

(8) IBRAHIM AL-KILANI
The IDF conducted an aerial attack on Sha’aban Dachdouch, a senior commander in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, at a rank equivalent to that of a Battalion Commander. The target was present in an office in the Al-Salam building, an office building. The attack was carried out in the late evening hours, in light of the assessment, premised upon timely intelligence, that there would not be civilians present at that time in the building, which was known to be an office building. Members of the Kilani and Derbas families, who had been staying on the same floor in the building as the target of the attack, were killed.
An English translation from Sha’aban Dachdouch’s al-Quds Brigades webpage reveals what he was doing when he was targeted:
” … he was overseeing and following up on battle plans, giving orders and guidance to his battalion and enhancing the morale of the Mujahideen, over time in the field.“
It has never been explained why the al-Kilani and Derbas families were sharing space, on the same floor in an office building, with a senior terror combatant with the equivalent rank of Battalion Commander, during combat.

(9) MUNIR AL-HAJJAR
Muneer and his brother, Bashir al-Hajjar, were traveling in an UNRWA car. The vehicle was targeted with precision weapons. Bashir was killed in the vehicle and an 8 year old child in the vehicle was wounded but not killed. Muneer exited the vehicle and was killed within several minutes by another precision weapon:
Munir’s brother, Bashir, was a Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror operative who had joined the organization at a young age. Below, a screen grab from the website of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, JEHAD:
“Our martyr [Bashir], the mujahid, joined the ranks of the Islamic Jihad movement from a young age and was arrested by the occupation forces on the grounds of his political affiliation, and then he continued the path of resistance through his scientific research that focused on the homeland and the Zionist attacks on the Palestinians to expose the occupation on the global level.“

(10) HANI AL-HALLAQ
At approximately 7:20pm on Sunday, 20 July 2014, Israeli aircraft fired three missiles targeting the apartment of Hani Mohammed Al Hallaq, 29, which is located on the second floor in the Cordoba Building in the Al Rimal neighbourhood in western Gaza City. Each missile targeted a specific section of his apartment, obviously the IDF did not want to miss their target. Why?
Hani al-Hallaq was an employee of the Hamas Government of Gaza, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. He was a web application programmer who not only worked on the development and design of the ministry’s website, but also was involved in the design and development of a range of Hamas ministry sites. He implemented many programs and websites for many Hamas ministries and institutions.
He participated “in all the extracurricular activities that the ministry’s public relations and media were calling for….”
He was faithful to God and the Hamas nation until the last breath of his life.

Now the victims of these terror operatives have been honored. The U.S. Department of Justice has seized al-Qassam Brigades assets, funds and websites, used to finance their terror campaigns. The monies will be directed to the United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund.
