THE FALSE NARRATIVE

Killed while present with other operatives in a military branch on farmland in the refugee camp.”

THE FACTUAL NARRATIVE:

IZZ AL-DIN AL-QASSAM BRIGADES WEBSITE

“On the morning of July 8, 2014, al-Qasami mujahedeen Rashad al-Din went to Rabat during the day for fear of a Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip, according to the al-Qassam Brigades leadership.
Indeed, the mujahedeen arrived at the point of his military bond with another mujahedeen, sat and remembered Allah Almighty, then prayed two rak’ahs and read what was facilitated by the Holy Quran, and then sat watching the Zionist air traffic in the skies of the Gaza Strip through his military parade.
And moments!, until the Zionist air force was raided by two missiles on the same area, during which our martyrs, the mujahedeen Rashad al-Din Abdul Rahman Yassin ,”Abu al-Ezz”, a martyr for the sake of God.”

“Al-Mujahid al-Qasami underwent military training and theoretical lectures to qualify him for military action, which helped her fight in the Battle of Al-Furqan (2008 war), and then Mujahid Rashad moved to work in one of the battalions’ military specialties, the Air Defense Unit.
Rashad al-Din received many military courses, specializing in air defense ….”

SUMMARY

Rashad a-Din ‘Abd a-Rahman Hussein Yasin was not WITH OTHER OPERATIVES when killed. He was with one other “mujahedeen” when he arrived at his “military bond”.

He was not simply killed while PRESENT. As a result of the al-Qassam Brigades courses he received, he specialized in “air defense”. He was not present when he was killed. He was observing IAF traffic in the skies over the a-Nuseirat Camp, he was specifically targeted with two missiles and killed.

“KILLED ON FARMLAND” is one of the most common tropes found in the B’Tselem databases

B’TSELEM’S USE OF THE TROPE

DEFINITION

A trope is a theme or plot element used many times, it creates recurrent images that influence an audience’s senses helping a writer achieve a desired effect. The meaning of the text is not literal, it is figurative.

B’TSELEM’S USE OF THE TROPE, “KILLED ON FARMLAND”

“Killed on farmland” or some version of it, is a common trope used by the B’Tselem databases, it is literally not true. It is a figurative theme or plot element used many times throughout their databases. The metaphorical use of this expression achieves the following effect: It adds the element of victimization to the narrative, it implies that the Palestinian terror operative was not engaged in hostilities when he died, he was just simply present on farmland and he was killed.

The B’Tselem trope creates an image of a peaceful pastoral setting, no hostilities, no combat and more significantly, no reference to the targeting of the terror operative or why he was specifically targeted. The narrative merely contains a figurative expression to account for the death of the Palestinian combatant. The trope does what it is suppose to do, achieve a desired effect and influence the reader’s senses.

VICTIMIZATION

As previously stated, the B’Tselem databases create the illusion that Palestinian combatants killed by the Israeli security apparatus are victims, victims of an “occupier“. The Rashad Yassin narrative is an example of this misinformation.

Yassin, B’Tselem alleges, was killed on farmland, no explanation of why he was killed, just simply, “… while present with other operatives….”. By using this trope that conjures up a peaceful pastoral setting, B’Tselem conceals why Yassin died, what he was doing when he died, and it creates the illusion that this terror operative combatant was a victim in this incident.

The B’Tselem narrative above is patently false. Yassin WAS NOT simply killed on farmland. He was killed while stationed on his military post, observing Israeli aircraft and passing this information to his command. Yassin was a terror combatant in Hamas’ Air Defense Unit. The source of his radio traffic was located and he was targeted by two missiles and killed.

The trope, killed on farmland, conceals how Yassin died, where he actually was when killed and what he was doing when he was targeted. The false narrative, in effect, has defined Yassin as the victim.

Rashad Yassin, the terror operative combatant, re-imagined by B’Tselem as the victim.

While the B’Tselem databases have re-imagined Palestinian terror operative combatants as victims, the U.S. Department of Justice has identified who the truthful victims were, they closed down a Hamas fundraising scheme and will redirect the Hamas assets to the factual victims, the victims of their terrorism. The event documented below occurred in August 2020:

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE SEIZURE

The original Humanize Palestine website memorialized Hamas and al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives, and B’Tselem represented them as victims, Rashad a-Din ‘Abd a-Rahman Hussein Yasin is one example.

Now the real victims have been identified. The U.S. Department of Justice has seized al-Qassam Brigades assets, funds and websites, used to finance their terror campaigns. The monies will be directed to the United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund.
