THE FACTUAL NARRATIVE:
IZZ AL-DIN AL-QASSAM BRIGADES WEBSITE
” … the brothers leader Mohammed Ghanem and the Mujahid Abdullah Al-Akhras and Mujahid Bashir Abdel-Aal, stationed … with the Cornet … watching the targets … for seven consecutive days … were given a target and the brothers hesitated to target him, thinking of them as an ambulance. After bringing the picture through Bashir’s camera, it turned out that he was a bus carrying a number of soldiers. The decision was to hit him and fire a missile at him.“
“… the missile’s failure and fall before the target, resulting in the discovery of the place of the plot … decision to leave the place immediately, and move to another place equipped in advance, and the second place over the course of nine days remained Bashir and his brothers in the second basement … until they were spotted and targeted by artillery shell led to the death of all of them …”

” … Thursday, after an artillery shell fell on a house east of Rafah … the Israeli artillery targeted a house belonging to the “Abu Asnimah” family… led to the martyrdom of three citizens … the martyr Abdullah Salem Al-Akhras, 27, the martyr Bashir Muhammad Abdel-Al, 20, and the martyr Muhammad Ziyad Ghanem, 25.”
Abdel-Al was a photographer, he was sent to document the work of two terror operatives in the “armor corp”, Abdullah Salem al-Akhras and Mohammed Ziad Ghanem. Their weapon was the Kornet anti-tank guided missile.
After seven days of searching, they found a target, a bus carrying soldiers. They fired the Kornet missile, it malfunctioned, revealing their location, they left, went to a second location which was set up in advance.
They stayed in the second location for nine days, a house belonging to the Abu Asnimah family, east of Rafah. The house was targeted by Israeli artillery and the three terror operatives were killed.

Ghanem, al-Akhras, and Abdul-Al WERE NOT killed while they were on farmland. They were killed in a house owned by the Abu Asnimah family.
“KILLED WHILE ON FARMLAND” is one of the most common tropes found in the B’Tselem databases.
B’TSELEM’S USE OF THE TROPE
A trope is a theme or plot element used many times, it creates recurrent images that influence an audience’s senses helping a writer achieve a desired effect. The meaning of the text is not literal, it is figurative.
B’TSELEM’S USE OF THE TROPE, “KILLED ON FARMLAND”
“Killed on farmland” or some version of it, is a common trope used by the B’Tselem databases, it is literally not true. It is a figurative theme or plot element used many times throughout their databases. The metaphorical use of this expression achieves the following effect: It adds the element of victimization to the narrative, it implies that the Palestinian terror operative was not engaged in hostilities when he died, he was just simply present on farmland and he was killed.
The B’Tselem trope creates an image of a peaceful pastoral setting, no hostilities, no combat and more significantly, no reference to the targeting of the terror operative or why he was specifically targeted. The narrative merely contains a figurative expression to account for the death of the Palestinian combatant. The trope does what it is suppose to do, achieve a desired effect and influence the reader’s senses
As previously stated, the B’Tselem databases create the illusion that Palestinian combatants killed by the Israeli security apparatus are victims, victims of an “occupier“. The Abdul-‘Al narrative is an example of this misinformation.
Bashir Abdul-‘Al, B’Tselem alleges, was killed on farmland, no explanation of why he was killed. By using this trope that conjures up a peaceful pastoral setting, B’Tselem conceals why Abdul-‘Al died, what he was doing when he died, and it creates the illusion that this terror operative combatant was a victim in this incident.
The B’Tselem narrative above is patently false. Abdul-‘Al WAS NOT killed on farmland. He was killed in a house, a house belonging to the Abu Asnimah family, where he was located for 9 days with two other “Qassamis”, waiting for another target to appear for their Kornet anti-tank missile. They were eventually spotted by the IDF, the house was targeted and the three terror operative combatants were killed.
The trope, killed on farmland, conceals how Abdul-‘Al died, where he actually was when killed and what he was doing when he was targeted. The false narrative, in effect, has defined Abdul-‘Al as the victim.
Bashir Abdul-‘Al, the terror operative combatant, re-imagined by B’Tselem as the victim.
While the B’Tselem databases have re-imagined Palestinian terror operative combatants as victims, the U.S. Department of Justice has identified who the truthful victims were, they closed down a Hamas fundraising scheme and will redirect the Hamas assets to the factual victims, the victims of their terrorism. The event documented below occurred in August 2020:
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE SEIZURE
The original Humanize Palestine website memorialized Hamas and al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives, and B’Tselem represented them as victims, Bashir Muhammad Hassan ‘Abd al-‘Aal is one example.
Now the real victims have been identified. The U.S. Department of Justice has seized al-Qassam Brigades assets, funds and websites, used to finance their terror campaigns. The monies will be directed to the United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund.
