After the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, Hassan al-Banna, in Egypt, in 1928, founded the Muslim Brotherhood, also called Muslim Brethren or The Society of the Muslim Brothers. He blamed western influence for the end of the Caliphate in Turkey. As stated by al-Banna, “It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.”
In 1928, Banna formed the Muslim Brotherhood in response to the declining state of Islam which he believed was due to the ineffective teachings of scholars and their failure to preserve Islam in its purest state. By the 1930s the Brotherhood had achieved significant popularity and had established branches all over Egypt and by the end of the 1930s, it stretched throughout the Middle east and had more than a half a million active members, it had become a significant political entity.
Growing support for the Brotherhood was a threat to both the rulers of Egypt and the British. Due to the declining popularity of the Egyptian government and the fear of a coup, the organization was banned on December 28,1948, when a Muslim Brother assassinated Egyptian Prime Minister Hahmud Fahmi Nokrashi. Its funds were confiscated and most of its members were imprisoned. On February 12, 1949, Banna was shot and killed in Cairo by two assassins thought to be government agents.
THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IN EGYPT
From the Muslim Brotherhood’s mission statement:
“Allah is our objective; the Quran our constitution; the Prophet is our leader; struggle is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations.”
With the 1924 collapse of the Ottoman Empire in Turkey and the rise of a new secular government led by Ataturk, the Islamic Caliphate came to an end. Reacting to the loss of the Caliphate, two major Islamic movements were born, the Wahabi sect in Saudi Arabia and the “al-Ikhwan al-Muslimeen”, the Society of Muslim Brothers, founded in Egypt in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna. Its stated purpose from the outset was shariah law and the restoration of the Islamic Caliphate.
The Brotherhood through Egyptian Islamic Jihad was involved in the assassination of Anwar Sadat in 1981 in retaliation for the signing of the Camp David Accords with Israel.
Some of the best known Islamic Terrorists have been members of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel Rahman, was a close student of Sayyid Qutb, a leading member of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. Ayman al-Zawahiri started in the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic Jihad before joining Osama Bin Laden in Al Qaeda.

Abstract
Palestinian Islamic politics have been dominated in the past three decades by the Muslim Brotherhood, later known as the Hamas. With its seizure of the Gaza Strip, Hamas came to be a virtual government, competing for leadership of all Palestinians on a near-equal basis with Fatah and its Palestinian Authority (PA) regime. Thus, Hamas can be said to be the only Muslim Brotherhood group in the world that also forms a government and rules over large numbers of people.

Former Jordanian Minister: Hamas Is A Branch Of The Muslim Brotherhood, Not A Palestinian National Liberation Movement
In a December 6, 2018 article in the London-based daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Saleh Al-Qallab, a former Jordanian minister and currently a columnist for the government daily Al-Rai, contested the claim that Hamas is a Palestinian national liberation movement.[1] Qallab wrote that Hamas is the Palestinian branch of the global Muslim Brotherhood (MB) organization and acts on the orders of this organization, of Qatar and of MB ideologue Sheikh Yousuf Al-Qaradawi. He added that Hamas is part of a regional axis that includes Iran, Turkey, Qatar, the Assad regime, Hizbullah, the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) and the Houthis in Yemen. Had Hamas really been a Palestinian liberation movement, he said, it would not have impeded the reconciliation efforts with Fatah and fought to maintain its separate rule in Gaza, and would not have consistently sided with Qatar, Iran and the MB while turning its back on Saudi Arabia.

The ‘Islamic Bloc’: Inculcating Hamas Ideology In Gaza Schools

… the “Islamic Bloc,” which started out as Hamas’s student organization, active at Gaza colleges and universities, but which over the years has extended its activity to schools, from the high school level down through the elementary school level. The Islamic Bloc also has a presence in the West Bank, but on a much smaller scale, and only among college students.
The Islamic Bloc coordinates and cooperates with Hamas and its administration in the Gaza Strip, and offers a variety of educational, cultural, social and sports activities for young people. Through these activities, its activists inculcate Hamas’s ideology and also give participants physical and weapons training to prepare them for resistance actions. The organization has an active website, and its various branches have Facebook pages that report on their activities in different parts of the Strip and in different educational facilities, attesting to their widespread presence in educational institutions throughout Gaza.
The Islamic Bloc website clarifies its relationship with Hamas: “The Islamic Bloc is a Palestinian student organization that adopts the total Islamic perspective on education, unions, society, culture and sports. It is an ideological extension of the Islamic movement in Palestine [i.e. Hamas], and endorses this movement’s views in all domains of life: politics, society, culture, economics, etc. It has an independent organizational framework, because Hamas is a political jihadi organization… whereas [the Islamic Bloc] is a union…”
Members of Hamas and the ‘Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades have been active in the Islamic Bloc since the 1980s, including Hamas Prime Minister Isma’il Haniya and Al-Qassam founding member Yahya ‘Ayyash.
The Islamic Bloc also supports the armed struggle of Hamas’s militant wing, the ‘Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades. This is reflected, for example, in an article on the Islamic Bloc’s website devoted to Sheikh ‘Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam, after whom the brigades are named, which states: “Decades after the mujahid Sheikh ‘Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam sacrificed his life on the blessed soil of Palestine, we find that the correct proposal regarding the [Palestinian] cause is the one proposed and carried out by ‘Izz Al-Din: [namely the idea of] Islam and armed struggle… [Today] we see that the ‘Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades are the ones bearing the burden of the conflict, and that ‘Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam’s way is the way chosen by the sons of Palestine: [namely the way of] Islam, revolution, and armed struggle – while many [others] have fallen into the quagmire of coexistence with the Jews.”

ستشهد المواطن زياد ماهر النجار (16 عاما)، مساء اليوم الاثنين، إثر استهداف طائرات الاحتلال دراجة نارية في مدينة خزاعة شرق خان يونس بقطاع غزة.
وافادت مصادر بأن الشهيد النجار نقل الى مستشفى ناصر بخان يونس اشلاء متفحمة، مشيرا الى أن الطائرات الحربية الاسرائيلية دمرت منزلا جنوب غزة.

وشارك عناصر من كتائب الشهيد عز الدين القسام في المسير العسكري الذي طاف شوارع البلدة.
وفي كلمة له سجل الشيخ كمال النجار أحد قادة الحركة بالمحافظة، اعتزار حركته بجهاد وتضحيات بلدة خزاعة خلال معركة العصف المأكول.
وأكد النجار أن المعركة الحقيقة مع الاحتلال هي على الجيل، مشيراً إلى أن حركته تبذل جهود كبيرة من خلال مخيمات طلائع التحرير وجي النخبة من أجل الحافظ على الجيل من شباك الاحتلال.
وفي نهاية المسير أزيح الستار عن لوحة رخامية نقش عليها أسماء شهداء معركة العصف المأكول في البلدة، وأماكن تواجد قبورهم.
يذكر أن المسير العسكري والكشفي لـ 300 عنصر من مخيمات طلائع التحرير وجيل النخبة طاف شوارع البلدة، وهم يحملون صور شهداء القسام في معركة العصف المأكول.

The Supreme Committee of the Elite Generation Camps in Khan Yunis governorate organized a military and scouting path for the martyrs camp # Khuza’a, east of Khan Yunis.
Members of the martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades participated in the military march that roamed the streets of the town.
In a speech to him, Sheikh Kamal Al-Najjar, one of the movement’s leaders in the province, recorded his movement’s commitment to jihad and the sacrifices of the town of Khuza’a during the battle of the eaten storm.
Al-Najjar stressed that the real battle with the occupation is over the generation, indicating that his movement is making great efforts through the camps of the Pioneers of Liberation and the Elite in order to preserve the generation of the nets of the occupation.
At the end of the march, a marble plaque was unveiled bearing the names of the martyrs of the battle of the eaten storm in the town, and the locations of their graves.
It is noteworthy that the military and scouting march of 300 members of the camps of Tala’i al-Tahrir and the elite generation toured the town’s streets, carrying pictures of Qassam martyrs in the battle of the eaten storm.

This was a fund raising scheme utilizing cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, to underwrite its terrorism (“resistance”). Note that the solicitation is in English. This would indicate that the fund raising scheme not only targeted Arabic speaking countries but English speaking western countries as well, such as the U.S.

The original Humanize Palestine website memorialized Hamas and al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives, Ziad Maher Mohammad al-Najjar was one example. In their own words, they honored the deceased terror operatives as martyrs by bringing them back to life through their pictures, stories, art, and poetry.
Now the victims of these terror operatives have been honored. The U.S. Department of Justice has seized al-Qassam Brigades assets, funds and websites, used to finance their terror campaigns. The monies will be directed to the United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund.
