Mustafa Hosni Aslan, 22 years old, was wounded during clashes Friday, June 20, 2014 in Qalandiya by Israeli Occupation Forces. He was shot in the head by Israeli forces when they raided the camp before dawn that Friday. He was pronounced dead in the hospital on June 25, 2014. Above, Mustafa is seen with his baby son.
Two other Palestinians were shot and wounded during the raid.

Later Friday, an Israeli round struck Mustafa Hosni Aslan, 22, in the head during a clash near the Qalandiya checkpoint in Ramallah. Palestinian medical officials initially reported that Aslan had survived his wounds, but the Palestinian Maan News Agency said he later died.
Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, a senior spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces, said that “both incidents occurred during riots in which IEDs were directly hurled at Israeli soldiers who felt their lives were threatened and returned live fire.”
Lerner said the improvised explosive devices were handmade grenades. He said both incidents took place after Israeli troops were confronted by Palestinian crowds as they made their way to arrest members of the Islamist militant movement Hamas. Two other Palestinians were seriously wounded in the confrontations.

23 years old, resident of Qalandiya Camp, al-Quds District, injured on 20 Jun 2014 in Qalandia R.C, al-Quds District, by live ammunition, and died on 25 Jun 2014. . Additional information: Shot in the head by soldiers who entered Qalandiya refugee camp during Operation Brother’s Keeper, while he was on the roof of his house. Died of his wounds on 25 June 2014. According to the IDF Spokesperson, an improvised grenade was hurled in the incident at a soldier, who was lightly wounded.
INCIDENT SUMMARY
On June 12, 2014, three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped and murdered by Palestinian terrorists, members of Hamas. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) initiated Operation Brother’s Keeper in search of the three. As part of the operation, in the following 11 days Israel arrested 350 Palestinians, including nearly all of Hamas’ West Bank leaders.
During this operation, on June 20, 2014, near the Qalandiya checkpoint in Ramallah, Palestinians threw homemade grenades, IED’s, at the IDF troops. The troops returned live fire and it was in this exchange, that Mustafa Aslan was shot in the head and killed.
At the time he was shot, Mustafa Aslan was standing on the roof of his home. He was shot by an Israeli sniper after it was reported that an IED, an improvised grenade was hurled at soldiers.
