Ziad Abu Ein, 55 years old, was killed on Wednesday December 10, 2014 in clashes with Israeli forces, reportedly due to inhaling large amounts of tear gas at a protest against the apartheid wall near the village of Turmus’ayya, northeast of Ramallah. Activists were planting olive trees by the illegal settlement of Adei Ad when the soldiers attacked them and fired large amounts of tear gas at the group. Ziad was also hit in the chest by Israelli soldiers before being killed.
Ziad was a Palestinian minister and the head of the Anti-Wall and Settlement Commission. He was a father of four and previously held the position of deputy minister of prisoners’ affairs. As a former detainee himself, he was sentenced to life in prison by Israel in 1982 but was released in a prisoner swap in 1985.
His last words were (see video below): “They attacked me and hit me, but this failure occupation will leave and the Palestinian people will win. This occupation will not defeat us… (breathing)…All those assaults and declarations are illegitimate and illegal and it is the destiny of our people to resist this occupation and the illegal assaults. We will continue the resistance and all the land is the land of Palestine.”

This man died because of his opposition to the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands; he made a stand for this as a principle and that was why he died. The guilt of the Israelis is clear as they are the illegal occupiers.Like

Palestinian Minister Dies at West Bank Protest
Witnesses say Zaid Abu Ein was hit by Border Police troops; IDF says he died of heart attack, is still investigating the incident.

The Palestinian minister in charge of the Settlements and Annexation Wall portfolio died Wednesday shortly after being hit and shoved by Israeli soldiers during a protest near Ramallah, witnesses and officials in the Palestinian Authority said.
A Palestinian witness at the protest told Haaretz that he saw an officer from the Border Police hit Minister Ziad Abu Ein with the butt of his gun and kick him. Eyewitness reports that Abu Ein died after being hit by policeman have been disputed, including by Israeli journalists present at the scene.
Channel 10 correspondent Roy Sharon tweeted on Wednesday, “If I’m not blind, then there was no rifle-butt strike, certainly not a significant or intentional one. I was standing next to him.”
According to reports in Israeli media, the army believes Abu Ein suffered a heart attack, but is continuing to investigate.
The minister fainted and a Palestinian Authority ambulance evacuated him from the scene, in the village of Turmusiya, to the hospital in the nearby Palestinian city of Ramallah. He died en route. Abu Ein suffered from diabetes and high blood pressure, his family said.

Palestinian minister dies after confrontation with Israeli police
Mohammed Torokman
TURMUSIYA, West Bank (Reuters) – A Palestinian minister died on Wednesday shortly after an Israeli border policeman shoved and grabbed him by the throat during a protest in the West Bank, an incident Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas described as barbaric.
Ziad Abu Ein, 55, a minister without portfolio, was among scores of Palestinian and foreign activists who were confronted at an Israeli checkpoint while heading to a demonstration against Jewish settlements in the occupied territory.
Around 30 Israeli soldiers and border policemen fired tear gas and sound grenades at the group and a scuffle ensued in which a border policeman pushed Abu Ein and grabbed his neck firmly with one hand. Footage of the incident and pictures taken by Reuters do not show Abu Ein responding with any violence.
Minutes later the minister began to look faint and fell to the ground clasping his chest. He died on his way to hospital.
It was not clear what caused his death. An autopsy is being carried out with Palestinian, Israeli and Jordanian pathologists present, with the results expected later on Wednesday.
The incident comes at a time of heightened tension between Israel and the Palestinians, following months of violent unrest in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
Abu Ein, who was convicted of killing two young Israelis in a bomb attack in 1979 and released as part of a prisoner swap in 1985, was a vocal opponent of Israel’s settlement expansion in the West Bank, which Palestinians want as part of an independent state together with Gaza and East Jerusalem.
A leader of Palestinian civil society groups for decades, Abu Ein was a regular attendee of non-violent protests and was appointed this year to head a government-backed protest group, the Committee to Resist Settlements and the Wall. Slideshow (8 Images)
Shortly before his death, Abu Ein spoke to television reporters, sounding hoarse and short of breath.

Dispute emerges over cause of prominent Palestinian official Ziad Abu Ein’s death
What happens next on the streets of East Jerusalem and the West Bank may rest on one question: What killed a prominent Palestinian cabinet minister during a clash Wednesday with Israeli soldiers?
The already tattered relationship between the Israeli government and Palestinians can, in fact, get much worse. The death of Ziad Abu Ein — a senior leader, a former prisoner, popular on the streets and known to young people — led Palestinian officials to threaten again to curtail security coordination in the West Bank between their forces and the Israeli military. Israel fears such a move would unleash chaos for all.
As the flag-draped coffin carrying Abu Ein was carried from the Palestinian Authority headquarters in Ramallah in a massive funerary procession Thursday, Israeli and Palestinian authorities tussled over the precise cause of his death. At issue was whether the chain-smoking, hard-driving Abu Ein died of cardiac arrest brought on by the stress of a confrontation with Israeli troops — or had been killed by a blow struck by an Israeli soldier and a choking blast of tear gas.
It was the latest example of a long-standing theme whereby the two sides rarely agree on the same set of facts.
Palestinian Civil Affairs Minister Hussein al-Sheikh told Voice of Palestine radio that a late-night autopsy found that Abu Ein died from “being struck, inhaling tear gas and a delay in providing medical attention.” At an emergency meeting Wednesday, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas waved a photograph of Abu Ein being clutched by the throat by an Israeli soldier.
Israel’s Health Ministry, however, announced Thursday that the same autopsy showed that Abu Ein’s death was “caused by a blockage of the coronary artery due to hemorrhaging underneath a layer of atherosclerotic plaque.” The forensic report concluded, “The poor condition of the deceased’s heart caused him to be more sensitive to stress.”
The autopsy was attended by Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian pathologists in an attempt to avoid this very fight.
Saber Aloul, the Palestinian pathologist who attended the autopsy, told the Associated Press that the “cause of death was a blow, and not natural causes.”
Chen Kugel, chief of the Israeli National Institute for Forensic Medicine, told reporters there was no real difference in the versions — that a stressful event led to a heart attack.
The Israeli news Web site Ynet quoted Kugel, who took part in the autopsy, as saying that the disagreement with the Palestinians stemmed also from damage on the victim’s front teeth, tongue and windpipe, which could have been the result of resuscitation attempts or an attack.
Speaking in Jerusalem, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin said that the country “is committed to carry out a careful examination into the events which led up to Abu Ein’s death.”

Profile: Who was Ziad Abu Ein?
Abu Ein spent several years in Israeli prison for his role in a 1979 terrorist attack in Tiberias, then fled to the US.
By KHALED ABU TOAMEH DECEMBER 11, 2014 02:17
Ziad Abu Ein, the senior Palestinian official who died on Wednesday after an altercation with IDF soldiers north of Ramallah, was appointed last September as head of the PLO’s Commission Against the Separation Wall and Settlements.
The commission is responsible for monitoring Israeli activities concerning the security barrier and construction in settlements in the West Bank.
It is also responsible for organizing “popular resistance” activities of Palestinians against the security barrier and settlements.
In his capacity as head of the commission, Abu Ein set out on Wednesday, together with Palestinian activists, to plant olive trees near the village of Turmus Aiya, north of Ramallah.
Prior to his new job, the 55-yearold Abu Ein served for nine years as deputy minister for prisoners’ affairs.
He is also a senior member of Fatah and was a member of the faction’s Revolutionary Council, commonly known as the Abu Nidal terrorist organization.
Abu Ein previously spent several years in Israeli prison for his role in a 1979 terrorist attack in Tiberias. A group of youngsters were celebrating Lag Ba’omer in the city center when a bomb exploded in their midst. Two 16-year-olds – Boaz Lahav and David Lankri – were killed and 36 other youths wounded.
After the attack, he fled to the US. In 1981, he became the first Palestinian ever to be extradited from the US to Israel.
A year later, Abu Ein was sentenced to life imprisonment but was released in the 1985 Jibril prisoner exchange deal. During the second intifada, Abu Ein was held in administrative detention.
Abu Ein was considered a prominent figure in Fatah’s young guard.
He was closely associated with jailed Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti, who is serving five life-terms in prison for his role in a series of terrorist attacks against Israelis at the beginning of the second intifada, which erupted in September 2000.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah)
At first you can not pen or pen without mentioning or greeting … to those who love God and love the martyrdom and the homeland … to the applicants and their injuries to the wounded of the homeland and the Intifada … And to those who have aged their children to rise Palestine to the prisoners in their advanced trench. To those who carry their lives on their shoulders and watch while others sleep … to the Knights of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades who are holding their rifles and know where to hunt and preserve the homeland more than their secret names … From the ugliness of history to the fertile freedom from death to the love of martyrdom The voice of the truth and the cry of Al-Intifadhah We stand up and flourish despite the seriousness that surrounds the homeland from wound to wound …
To continue the sincere Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades on the path of martyrs from the first martyr yesterday to the first martyr today continues to carry Kandil light Amana. And know that the homeland has a clear path in front of the eyes of the truth and know that sacrifice and redemption is not absent from the fighters and that the dream will become a reality inevitable at the hands of the Mujahideen of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades with their determination and strength of their will and patience .. Here we stand puzzled when we would like to start to recognize the noblest visible since the beginning of this The purity of its gun, the truth of its faith and its people, and its ever-advancing qualitative work.
Since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, Fatah fighters have not had a genuine circle of thought at the level of all the governorates of the West Bank and Gaza, except to initiate and establish the body of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades as a military wing of the movement and a stray arm chasing the remnants of the occupation and the herds of settlers. In the solution of appeasement and hypocrites in the psyche of helplessness and surrender.
The Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades came to prove that the Fatah movement is the struggle and the revolution for those who persisted and remained, not for those who passed and were sentenced to a political and military option that goes beyond the philosophy of helplessness and political leanings.
The leaders of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade have been active and revolutionary, with all the pillars of the Palestinian national and Islamic work of different names and orientations, and to restore the movement to the record of its glory and blew its dignity and dignity. So, their knights began to hunt down the settlers. There was no day passed until the battalions put their fingerprints on killing one of them or wounding them and a pinch of terror in their hearts. The same work was carried out by pursuing the occupation soldiers at the death checkpoints, with the best qualitative operations such as the Ein Arik checkpoint, which was carried out by the Martyr Martyr Shadi al-Sa’aida, on 19/02/2002, in which the whole unit was completely destroyed. Grab some of their belongings and rifles.
As well as the operation of the eyes of the Valley of Haramism carried out by the prisoner Mujahid “Thaer Hammad”, in which 11 soldiers were killed by Zionist at the checkpoint and the date of 3/3/2002, and sentenced to 11 years imprisonment.
The Mujahideen fighters in the Gaza Strip had their share of these heroic operations. The martyrdom of the mujahideen “Tariq Yassin” was the executor of the “Kushufim” heroic death bridge on 23-7-2005, in which five Zionist soldiers were killed, including a large Jewish rabbi, Recipe of Kissufim.
The leadership of the Al-Aqsa Brigades began to expand the work of the struggle to occupy the occupied territories in the depth of our occupied territories in 1948. The first martyrdom martyrdom of the martyr Mujahid Ali Julani was near the Ministry of War of the Zionist enemy on 5/8/2001. The enemy of the shock of the process and the arrival of martyrdom hero of this most fortified place.
The first incursions into the occupied Zionist settlements on the occupied territories of the martyrdom leader “Bahaa al-Din Said,” the executor of the heroic intrusion in the usurped “Kfar Darom” to kill and injure many Zionists on 18/11/2000.
For the first time since the beginning of the conflict with the Zionist enemy after its occupation of the country in 1948, the Al-Aqsa Brigades began digging the tunnels. The operation was carried out by the two martyrs, Ashraf Zaqout and Ayman Sahwil. The Mujahideen carried out the first incursion by digging a tunnel at the Beit Hanoun crossing and killing behind the enemy lines A Zionist soldier was killed and a Zionist soldier was killed and three others were seriously wounded, according to the confessions of the Zionist enemy during the operation which succeeded in implementing its goal on 2/24/2004.
The Brigades began to develop methods of resistance. For the first time, they launched the blessed intifada, rockets and mortar shells at the Israeli occupation forces and the Zionist positions to instill terror and panic in the hearts of the leaders and staff of the Zionist settlers. The Brigades of the Al-Aqsa Brigades were the first to manufacture rockets. And mortar shells, was the martyrs leaders, “Ahmed Saber Abahra, and Commander Ibrahim Zaherabahira, commander and Arad Tahir Abahra” owners of the first idea in the sale of these missiles to change the bases of confrontation with the Zionist enemy and fired their blessed missiles on the casualties of the count And the northern West Bank.
The Palestinian struggle went to the widest of its doors to share the Fedayeen Brigades Brigades martyrdom operations martyrdom was the first “Wafa Idris” on the level of Palestine during the blessed uprising and on 28/1/2002, to strike deep in the Zionist force in a heroic quality, killing a Zionist and wounding 90 others And the martyrdom of Nawar Abu Shalhoub “and to strike the Zionist occupation everywhere, declaring to the whole world not to live in security and stability except the departure of Zionist Jews About Arsen The Palestinian territories.
And embraced by the battalions of the Jarrar army of the fighters and the martyrs to testify and convinced of its thought. And moved also to be the first work of a specific car bomb near the colony of Kvarardum previously led by martyr martyr Muhammed al-Anani “to hit a military jeep and kill and injure him on 8-5-2003 ..
And the planting of an explosive device as the first package used in the intifada on the road to Ksofim, formerly a bus carrying settlers to kill and injure many of them on 15/7/2001.
And many many heroic and qualitative operations initiated by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and here stop the occupation and the confusion and confusion before the strikes of the Knights Brigades and then took the first assassinations and physical liquidation in this uprising.
Where the Zionist enemy assassinated the first commander of Al-Aqsa Martyr Martyr Jamal Abdel Razek and two of his comrades in the Gaza Strip “Rafah” 22 November 2000.
On the other hand, in the West Bank, the first assassinations of the founding leader, Dr. Thabet Thabet, were “your height” on 31/12/2000.
The first assassination of Zionist aircraft in the Gaza Strip to the martyr leader “Massoud Ayad” on
2001/213.
In the West Bank as well, the first assassination operation was carried out by the planes of the martyr Hussein Abayat on 9/11/2000.
The phalanges will not restrain or relax the volcanoes of anger for their love of freedom and their conviction that dawn is coming and the revolution must prevail and ‘I am the faithful commandments of the martyrs.
The battalions gained the love of the people and surrounded all the honorable people to protect it and remained until now the title of the stage with the purity of its gun and its sincerity and destination.
A covenant and a partition for all the liberals of the nation and the nation’s legitimacy if they keep our guns towards the occupation.
And to this day in the 2008 war, in which the battalions recorded a great awakening and the enemy army returned a defeated road.
The battalions also organized their guerrillas a great victory over the Zionist enemy in the battle of the “thunder of the storm” in 2012, by heavy strikes and firing dozens of rockets blessed and mortar shells and announced the battalions after eight days victory with all factions of resistance and armed action.
The battle of “Storm Road” was the beginning of the liberation, which lasted fifty-one days. The Battalions launched the finest heroic and redemption campaigns by firing dozens of blessed rockets and mortars at the Israeli settlements and assassinations, and sniping and direct clashes from the point of “zero.” The battalions provided dozens of martyrs and wounded , And shelled the homes of its leaders and fighters who brought panic and terror in the hearts of the leaders of the Zionist entity fragile, and announced the battalions after a fifty-one victory with all factions of resistance and armed action.
In the preparation and preparation of the great battle, the battalions of the battalions in the era of the martyrs are still fighting to liberate Palestine from its river to its sea.

SUMMARY
Ziad Abu Ein was a Fatah terrorist. He was a member of the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, a U.S. designated Foreign Terrorist Organization. He had been sentenced to life imprisonment for his role in a terrorist attack that killed two 16-year-old Israelis in 1979. He was the first Palestinian ever to be extradited from the U.S. to Israel. At the time of his death, he was a senior member of Fatah and was a member of the faction’s Revolutionary Council, commonly known as the Abu Nidal terrorist organization.
Abu Eid was a chain smoker, a diabetic with high blood pressure, who died of cardiac arrest brought on by the stress of a confrontation with Israeli troops. Shortly before his death, he spoke to television reporters sounding hoarse and short of breath, indicators of severe cardiac disease.
In a scuffle with a border policeman, he was grabbed by the neck for a couple of seconds and pushed in a backward direction. Minutes later he began to look faint and fell to the ground clasping his chest, as seen in the YouTube videos. He died on the way to the hospital.
After an autopsy, it was determined that he suffered a heart attack. The autopsy showed that Abu Eid’s death was “caused by a blockage of the coronary artery due to hemorrhaging underneath a layer of atherosclerotic plaque.” The forensic report concluded, “The poor condition of the deceased’s heart caused him to be more sensitive to stress.” A stressful event, the confrontation with the border policeman, led to his heart attack and death.
