On Sunday, August 24, 2014, 5 members of the Juda’ family were killed by an Israeli airstrike in the Tal al-Zatar neighborhood, east of Jabaliya.
They were:
- Rawiya Juda, 40 years old, was the mother of the family
- Taghreed Juda, 12 years old
- Tasnim Juda, 13 years old
- Mohammad Juda, 9 years old
- Osama Juda, 8 years old
They were the 89th Palestinian family since July 8th to have been murdered in their home by an Israeli airstrike.
From Middle East Eye:
Rawia Juda, 40, was sitting on her doorstep in the fresh night air, telling stories to her children to distract them from the horror of Israeli missiles and bombs. Just for a few moments, the family expected things to stay quiet.
When she finished, she went into the house to check on her husband, Essam, 45, who had decided to give her a break from the domestic routine and was busy cooking the evening meal.
Taghreed, 12, and her sister Tasnim, 13, were playing with a doll. One had asked the other to fetch a comb to style the hair of toy bride, in preparation for its wedding.
Mohammed, 9, and Osama, 8, were also nearby playing with a balloon. Each time a missile struck, they would run over to their mother’s arms and hide until the smoke disappeared and things were quiet enough to play again.
Rahaf, 11, was visiting a friend next door and playing, blissfully unaware that she would never see her family alive and together again.
Before long, however, the brief lull was shattered.
Out of the sunset, two Israeli drone missiles hit Rawia and her children, shattering their bodies into pieces. The explosions shook the whole neighborhood and people ran to the site hoping to help but instead they were greeted by dead bodies of friends and family they could no longer recognize.
Essam Juda, the father, quickly ran outside screaming for help “help me, neighbors, help me”. When his daughter Rahaf ran over from next door all she could do was look at her mother’s dead body and scream…
A cousin Mohammed, who came to help with the rescue, said that the children were merely playing “the house was filled with our laughter only. Does that upset Israel?”
He explained that Osama, 8, was excited about starting his first school year and already had his drawing book and paints inside his school bag, although he never got the chance to use them.

… Out of the sunset, two Israeli drone missiles hit Rawia and her children, shattering their bodies into pieces. The explosions shook the whole neighborhood and people ran to the site hoping to help but instead they were greeted by dead bodies of friends and family they could no longer recognize….
… The family insist they don’t know why they were hit and swear there could not have been any military target nearby….
… “This was a family not a military target,” he said. “No-one in the family is associated with the resistance and they live far from where any resistance rockets are fired,” he added referring to Tal al-Zatar, one of the most crowded areas in Gaza Strip….

SUMMARY
The Juda family funeral, the large crowd in the procession, the bodies all draped with Fatah shrouds and the terror organization’s flags, all indicate that the deceased were all members of a prominent Fatah family.
A family friend stated: “This was a family not a military target, …No-one in the family is associated with the resistance ….”
The above family friend’s statement is false. All the bodies of Juda family members in the funeral cortege are seen ceremoniously wrapped in Fatah symbols while the flag of Fatah’s military wing is seen flying overhead. Obviously this family is associated with the resistance (“Resistance” is a euphemism for terrorist organization) and their house WAS a military target.

In this context, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the Asifah Army, extends the deepest condolences from the fighter brother Issam Judeh “Abu Mustafa” for the martyrdom of his generous family after a criminal reconnaissance plane targeted their home in Jabalia camp. 1- The militant brother did not suffer any harm, and if that was the least that we would give as our Lord and the nation, we are used to presenting our leaders before our soldiers.
2- Our path is nothing but a path paved with blood so that we can all reach freedom, independence and the liberation of homelands from the abomination of the Zionist occupation.
3- We affirm that the blood of the sons of Fatah movement and its brigades is nothing but an embodiment of the unity of blood and the Palestinian body entrenched with all the fighting forces in one trench to confront the “Zionist occupation.”
