ميلاد ونشأة

وفي خان يونس، قلعة الشهداء، في تاريخ 13-12-1969 كانت على موعد لاستقبال الشهيد القائد أبو محمد، أحد رجالات المقاومة، وليكتب بميلاده سطور في حكايات التحرير، ثم ليتم من عمره 45 عاما، ويقضي بعدها شهيدا ومقاوم صنديد بعد عمر مديد في التجهيز والإعداد والنضال.
ولد الشهيد (أبو محمد) في كنف أسرة محافظة على تعاليم دينها الإسلامي، بسيطة الحال، تسد قوت يومها بفلاحة الأرض وزراعتها.
اتسم الشهيد بخصال حميدة، تضفي لبراءة طفولته رجولة منذ الصغر، فقد كان محبوبا، كثير المزح بأدب، والشاهد على ذلك: علاقته مع والديه اللذين أحباه وأحبا روحه الطيبة، فلقد كان برا بهما، محبا لهما، يسابق إخوانه في مساعدتهما والإحسان إليهما. 
فكان الشهيد أبو محمد. (الابن البار) وانعكست أخلاقه وخصاله في تعامله مع إخوانه داخل المنزل، فلقد كان على علاقة حميمة معهم لم تتخللها مشاكل تذكر
أما على صعيد المجتمع من حوله، فلقد كان القائد أبو محمد، اجتماعيا خدوما لمعارفه وأقاربه، مشاركا في إصلاح ذات البين، وسد البؤر والخلافات العائلية. ليضحي منزله المتواضع، مكانا يرتاده الكثير، وفعلا كان الشهيد عند حسن ظنهم، يبذل ما في وسعه ليعم الاستقرار وتسود المحبة. 
كل ذلك لم يأتي من فراغ، فتربية الشهيد الملتزمة، كانت من البيئة التي احتضنته ألا وهي المسجد، فقد التزمه الشهيد منذ نعومة أظافره، وكبر وترعرع بين أكناف مسجد المجمع الإسلامي.

مراحل دراسته وعمله

أما بالحديث عن المسيرة التعليمية للشهيد أبو محمد، فلم تكن بالطويلة، بل اكتملت وانتهت عند الصف الخامس الابتدائي بحكم عمل أهله في الزراعة، ورغبة منه في مساندة والده إلى جانب أخيه الأكبر. 
ولكن هذا لم يقتل تلك الروح في داخل أبو محمد. التي تحب العلم وتقدره، أصر منه أن يتقن القراءة والكتابة، وهذا ما كان له على يد الشيخ: عبد الباسط الأسطل. 
كانت مرحلة الشهيد القصيرة كما أسلفنا، تتحلى بحسن الطباع وجميلها، ذا سلوك جيد مع أقرانه وخلانه. رافق عمل الشهيد مع أهله، رغبته الجامحة منه للجهاد، وكان له أيضا ما أراد، حيث انتقل إلى العمل العسكري، وأعطاه الكثير من وقته. فداء للدين والوطن.

في ركب الدعوة والجهاد

بدأ الشهيد التزامه الدعوي في صفوف الحركة، في عام 2002 بهمة وعزيمة. فلقد تبين دوره في أنه كان يشارك الإخوة في منطقته (حي المحطة) بالنشاطات العامة والندوات والمسيرات، إضافة إلى نشاطات المسجد. 
يسبق هذا الالتحاق والالتزام الدعوي للشهيد أبو محمد، انضمامه إلى صفوف العمل العسكري في جهاز حركة المقاومة الإسلامية حماس من العام 2000، حيث أنه شارك في الانتفاضة الثانية بطلا مناضلا، فلقد أوكل إليه بأن يكون قائدا لمجموعة قساميه في منطقة البلد، إضافة إلى دوره المذكور في إدخال الأسلحة والعبوات الأرضية، وإيصالها إلى المجاهدين المرابطين. وبهذا، أضحى أبو محمد، من أوائل الذين عملوا في الخلايا العسكرية في قلعة الشهداء، خان يونس.

تسلسل عمل الشهيد أبو محمد، حيث أنه كان يعمل في البداية أمير مجموعة قسامية في البلد كما أسلفنا، ثم بعد فترة أصبح أميراً للفصيل في ذات المنطقة، حنكته العالية جعلت من الأخوة يقومون بفرزه للعمل بأحد الملفات التخصصية في الجهاز.
لم يبخل الشهيد قط في مجاله، يبذل ما في وسعه حتى يقوم بعمله على أتم وأكمل وجه، موقنا بأن الحق لنا، عائد بجهادنا. وحينما نسلط الضوء على حياته الجهادية قليلا، فإننا نرى الشهيد أبو محمد من أشد الحريصين على الرباط، متجنبا أن يفوته ليلة فيه، ويذكر أن ثمة جملة كانت تتردد على لسانه كثيرا وذلك في قوله: ” لا أستطيع أن أنام وهناك مجموعة مرابطة أديرها “

أما صفات الشهيد الأخلاقية الجهادية، فلقد كانت غالبة على شخصيته لذلك مثل ثقلا ومرجعا للشباب المجاهد، وفي سبيل ذلك، فلقد جعل من منزله حاضنا لهم على مدى السنوات الطويلة من العمل الدؤوب في الجهاز العسكري، غاض البصر عن كل الأخطار المحدقة عن هذا، إيمانا منه أن ذلك في سبيل الله. وان لن يصيبنا إلا ما كتب الله لنا. ومن بعض قصص الشهيد ومنزله، يروى أنه في الحرب الأخيرة، نزح كثيرا من أهل المنطقة الشرقية فارين من الموت آنذاك، وبحكم أن البيت على دوار بني سهيلا، فكان يأبى رحمه الله إلا أن يخرج لهم الطعام والشراب ويد العون لهم. 
زخرت حياة الشهيد الجهادية بالكثير، حيث أنه ساعد في ضرب الهاون على المغتصبات في كثيرا من العمليات البطولية ومنها: عملية محمد فرحات. ولا ننسى فضل الشهيد في إدخال العبوات والأسلحة من الخارج للجهاز العسكري.
كان شهيدنا أبو محمد، يتوقع الشهادة في أي لحظة، ومن الإيحاءات على ذلك أيضا أنه كان يرى رؤياه التي توحي لاستشهاده.

استشهاده

اندلعت حرب العصف المأكول، وعاثت القوات الصهيونية فسادا ودمارا بطائراتها الجبانة ومدفعياتها القاتلة على شعب غزة، الذي استبسل أبطاله المجاهدون للدفاع عن أرضهم، ورغم توالي الأخبار المحزنة والمشاهد الفظيعة التي كان يتلقاها الشعب، كان ما يخفف من آلامهم الأخبار المفرحة التي أوجعت محتلهم على أيدي المقاومين الأبطال.
في الرابع والعشرين من شهر رمضان المبارك، كانت الطائرات الإسرائيلية تترصد للشهيد القائد إسماعيل الأسطل (أبو محمد) وتتربص به، وشاء القدر أن يجتمع القائد أبو محمد مع رفيقه الشهيد محمد حسن الأسطل، وابنه الشهيد أحمد إسماعيل الأسطل وابن أخيه الشهيد محمد صالح الأسطل، إضافة لبعض الأقارب.
واجتمع هؤلاء في (عريشة) قريبة من بيت الشهيد أبو محمد، وحين ذلك استطاعت الطائرات تحديد مكانهم، وقامت طيارة بدون طيار بإطلاق خمسة صواريخ باتجاه المكان، خمسة صواريخ كانت كافية لرحيل خمسة من الرجال المجاهدين إلى الجنة بإذن الله.
تعاهدوا أن يعيشوا معا، يجاهدوا معا، فكتب القدر أن يرحلوا معا. رحمهم الله.

شهداءنا يا عزم شعب لن ينكسر. أيا فرسان تصهل في ساح الوغى
دمكم على العدى صاروخ مستعر. فيتفجر تحتهم لهيبا ولظى

This was a fund raising scheme utilizing cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, to underwrite its terrorism (“resistance”). Note that the solicitation is in English. This would indicate that the fund raising scheme not only targeted Arabic speaking countries but English speaking western countries as well, such as the U.S.

In August 2020, the U.S. government seized the website, funds and assets:

The original Humanize Palestine website memorialized Hamas and al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives, Ismail Muhammad al-Astal (Abu Muhammad) was one example. In their own words, they honored the deceased terror operatives as martyrs by bringing them back to life through their pictures, stories, art, and poetry.

Now the victims of these terror operatives have been honored. The U.S. Department of Justice has seized al-Qassam Brigades assets, funds and websites, used to finance their terror campaigns. The monies will be directed to the United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund.
