THE FALSE NARRATIVE
“Did not participate in hostilities“
“… killed … by gunfire from an aircraft ….”
“Killed together with another person … riding on a motorbike ….”
“10 people inside the school were also killed in the strike“
THE FACTUAL NARRATIVE:
Military Advocate General (MAG Corps’)
It was further found, that on 3 August 2014, the IDF observed three people riding on a motorbike, who were identified, on the basis of up-to-date intelligence information, as military operatives. From the moment that the decision to strike the operatives was made, the IDF carried out aerial surveillance on the motorbike’s path, and surveyed a wide radius of the estimated continued route of the motorbike, in order to minimize the potential for harm to civilians on the route or in proximity thereto. The final destination of the military operatives was not known to the operational authorities. The strike on the military operatives was planned for execution by means of a precise munition, with a reduced explosive load, in a way that would allow for the strike’s objective to be achieved, whilst minimizing the potential for harm to civilians or passing vehicles.
The strike on the motorbike riders occurred immediately after the motorbike passed by the gate of the school. As mentioned above, it is alleged that as a result of the strike between seven and fifteen people in the vicinity of the school’s gate were killed (as indicated above, the number of fatalities varies from report to report). According to the findings of the FFA Mechanism, three military operatives were among the fatalities.
SUMMARY
●Three people were on the motorbike, NOT two.
●They were NOT killed by gunfire -they were killed by a “precise munition with a reduced explosive load”.
●All three individuals killed were military operatives, combatants.
●10 people WERE NOT killed inside the school. Most were killed in the street, close to the school gate. One of the 10, Hazem Abu Hiilal, can be seen in a video lying dead in the street outside the school grounds. His body was then transported inside the school yard and positioned for propaganda purposes.
The Guardian
The Screen Grabs below, #1 thru #6, were taken from a Guardian video. Screen Grab #7 was taken from a YouTube video.
SCREEN GRAB #1
Screen Grab #1 shows the gate to the UNRWA school. Also seen are blood stains on the ground, in the street, outside the school, in front of the gate, that demonstrate the wounding and/or killing of individuals outside of the school grounds.
SCREEN GRAB #2
Screen Grab #2 depicts the relative locations of the School Gate and the Electric Tower – the direction of motor vehicle traffic passing by the gate is also shown.
SCREEN GRAB #3
Screen Grab #3 reveals the relative locations of the School Gate, the Electric Tower and a Grate that is located in the pavement.
SCREEN GRAB #4
Screen Grab #4 shows Hazem Abu Hilal’s body lying by the Grate – also shown is the Electric Tower and the location of the UNRWA School Gate. This photo demonstrates that Hilal’s body is not on school grounds but outside the school gate lying on the pavement in the street. He WAS NOT killed in the school.
SCREEN GRAB #5
Screen Grab #5 shows where the motorbike came to rest after the strike.
SCREEN GRAB #6
Screen Grab #6, the body of Ahmad Kamel al-Nahhal, in the street, close to the school gate.
SCREEN GRAB #7
Screen Grab #7, taken from a YouTube video, shows Hilal’s body lying inside the school grounds. It obviously was transported there after he had been killed in the street, in front of the school gate.
SUMMARY
There was no strike on the UNRWA school. Three military operatives on a motorbike were targeted and killed as their motorbike passed by the school gate. The strike on the terror operatives was allegedly responsible for the deaths of several individuals who at the time, were located close to the school’s gate. The B’Tselem narrative states that Hilal was one of 10 individuals killed in the school. This is either false or fraudulent, B’Tselem should have had access to the video that shows Hilal lying dead in the street, obviously not one of 10 killed in the school. This fact suggests that the other 9 victims, B’Tselem states were killed in the school, may have died in the street and not in the school, as well.
AHMAD KAMAL AL-NAHHAL’S AFFILIATION
Ahmad Kamal ‘Abed a-Nahal was a member of the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, the military wing of Fatah and a U.S. designated Foreign Terrorist Organization
The title of a YouTube that memorializes his martyrdom:
الشهيد احمد كمال النحال ابو كمالابن كتائب شهداء الاقصي ابن كتائب شهداء الاقصي ابن كتائب شهداء الاقصي
Martyr Ahmed Kamal Al-Nahal Abu Kamal
The son of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the son of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the son of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.
SUMMARY
Ahmad Kamal al-Nahhal, contrary to the B’Tselem narrative, DID participate in hostilities. He was affiliated with the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, the military wing of Fatah, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization – he was a combatant. Nahhal and the two other riders on the motorbike were the target of a drone strike which occurred in the street in close proximity to the UNRWA school gate – The riders on the motorbike, Nahhal, Hilal and Shalof, which was passing by the school gate, were the targets of the strike. The school WAS NOT the target.
The B’Tselem statement that “two people who were passing by the school on a motorbike were also killed in the strike“, “were also killed“, implies that the school was the target of the strike. Basically, it infers that the school was attacked, killing several people on school grounds and in addition, due to fate, the riders on a motorbike who happened to be passing by at the time. This is patently false and the statement that Nahhal was killed “together with another person” when riding a motorbike close to the UNRWA school, is also false. Nahhal was riding with two other individuals, Hillal and Shalof.
Hazem Abu Hilal was one of the three military operatives on the motorbike that was targeted and hit by a “precice munition, with a reduced explosive load.” After the strike, his body can be seen lying in the street before it was removed and relocated to the school’s yard for propaganda purposes. Again, all three riders on the motorbike, the target, contrary to the B’Tselem narrative were military operatives and killed.
All the evidence presented on this webpage clearly demonstrates that the entire B’Tselem narrative is obviously false. And there is a reason for this, the B’Tselem narrative was written to make it appear as if the school was the target and the deaths of the three military operatives, the result of fate, as they passed by the school as it was attacked. This patently false B’Tselem narrative, in effect, depicts Nahhal as a victim, a victim of fate and a victim of an Israeli war crime, the attacking of civilians in a school.

VICTIMIZATION
The B’Tselem databases create the illusion that Palestinian combatants killed by the Israeli security apparatus are victims, victims of an “occupier“. The Ahmad Kamal ‘Abed a-Nahal narrative is an example of this misinformation.
Al-Nahhal, B’Tselem alleges, did not participate in hostilities and was merely riding his motorbike with another person, passing by a school, when the two were killed by gunfire from an aircraft when the school was attacked. In addition, B’Tselem alleges, 10 people in the school were also killed in the strike. The B’Tselem narrative implies that al-Nahhal and Shalof, “the other person” were victims of a war crime, an attack targeting civilians in a school. This is all patently false.
Al-Nahhal was a terror operative combatant, a member of the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades. Al-Nahhal, and the TWO other military operatives riding with him were specifically targeted by a precision weapon to minimize collateral damage, because they were identified as terror operative combatants.
The school was not targeted and attacked in this incident, all casualties occurred in close proximity to the school gate as the motorbike, the target, passed by. The false B’Tselem narrative, in effect, has defined al-Nahhal as a victim.
Ahmed Kamel al-Nahhal, the terror operative combatant, re-imagined by B’Tselem as the victim.
