Enas Khalil, five years old, was killed early morning on Sunday, October 19, 2014, after being hit by a car driven by an Israeli settler near the central West Bank town of Sinjil. 8 year old Nilin Asfour, who was with her, was struck by the car as well, and both were taken to the hospital in Ramallah. Asfour was badly injured but is currently in stable condition.

Palestinian Girl Run Over by Jewish Settler Dies

One of two Palestinian girls that had been run over by a Jewish settler near Ramallah earlier Sunday in the occupied West Bank died of her injuries, a Palestinian medical official said Sunday.

“Enas Khalil,5, succumbed to injuries she sustained when she was hit by a settler’s car,” Samir Saliba, head of the emergency department in the Ramallah Medical Complex, told Anadolu Agency.

The other girl is now hospitalized in a stable condition, Saliba added.

According to the eyewitnesses, the settler hit the two girls on the main road near Sinjil town, leaving them badly injured.

The settler fled the scene after the incident, they added.

Thousands gathered in the small West Bank town of Sinjil Monday for the funeral of a five-year-old Palestinian girl killed on Sunday when a Jewish settler hit her in his car.

Enas Khalil was walking home from school when she was hit by a car driven by a 29-year-old Israeli from a settlement near Ramallah. The driver fled the scene.

At the funeral some Palestinians accused the driver of deliberately knocking the girl down. The driver told Israeli police that he fled fearing a crowd that gathered at the scene, according to Israeli website Ynet.

Israeli settler runs over two Palestinian children, one killed

Ramallah, ALRAY – Enass Shawkat Khalil, five-year-old, from Single town northern Ramallah was killed and another girl was critically injured in hit-and-run accident by an Israeli settler.


Both girls were taken to the hospital, where medical sources announced Enas’s death, and the other child is still in the intensive care room.



 Eyewitnesses reported that the settler was driving on the street where he intentionally ran over the two girls while they were crossing the street in their way home from the kindergarten. 
 


Medical sources said that the two children were struck in the head, one of them passed away while doctors were trying to save her. 


The witnesses added that the mothers of the two children fainted in front of the hospital gate when hearing the news.

The Israeli settler turn himself to the police and claimed that he ran away out of fear that the Palestinian crowed would hurt him. The Israeli police said that the incident was just an accident, Ynet revealed.

SUMMARY

While walking home from school, Enas Khalil and another young girl were hit by a car driven by a 29-year-old Israeli. Enas Khalil died as a result of her injuries, the other girl survived.

The driver of the car that hit the two girls fled the scene after the incident. He then turned himself into the police and claimed that he ran away from the accident scene fearing for his life, believing that the Palestinian crowd that gathered at the site, would harm him.

The Israeli police said that the incident was simply an accident.
