Bayan al-Esseili was a bright, ambitious 16-year-old who on Saturday morning left her home in the West Bank city of Hebron to study with a friend for an English exam, say her parents. But according to Israeli police, Esseili walked to a paramilitary police checkpoint close to her house, pulled out a knife and injured a female police officer’s hand in a brief scuffle. The officer then shot the teenager dead. All of a sudden, she drew out a knife and tried to stab me in the neck the policewoman, identified only as Corporal M, told Israel’s Ynet news website. The officer described how she neutralised Esseili. I took a step back and shot the terrorist without hesitating.

Ongoing Incitement in the Social Networks

This past week incitement and hate propaganda continued in the Palestinian social networks. Many notices, cartoons and videos were posted encouraging terrorist attacks. For example:

Left: Encouragement for stabbing attacks. The Arabic reads, “If you have seen those infidels, strike their throats…Allahu akbar (Facebook page of Gaza al-‘Aan, October 14, 2015). Right: A notice reading “We will take your souls, oh sons of pigs” (Facebook page of Gaza al-‘Aan, October 13, 2015).

The Facebook page of QudsN encourages stabbing attacks. Left: The Arabic reads, “Stab!” (Facebook page of QudsN, October 14, 2015). Right: a masked Palestinian hacks at a Jew with a meat cleaver (Facebook page of QudsN, October 18, 2015).

Overview [Terrorist Attacks]

This past week the wave of terrorism and violence continued, focusing on Beersheba (shooting attack), Jerusalem, Hebron and the Etzion Bloc (stabbing and vehicular attacks). As during the past weeks, the attacks were carried out by lone, young terrorists, unaffiliated with the terrorist organizations, most of them without a criminal record. The number of Israelis killed in the current wave of terrorism has reached 11.

PATENTLY FALSE NARRATIVE, ORIGINAL HUMANIZE PALESTINE WEBSITE

ORIGINAL HUMANIZE PALESTINE WEBSITE

“Bayan Ayman Abd al-Hadi al-Esseili … was shot dead … by Israeli Forces in Hebron … after allegedly stabbing an Israeli border police officer. This was the third alleged attack by Palestinians that day, although no Israelis were injured in either incident.”

THE FACTS

Bayan Ayman Abd al-Hadi al-Esseili was not shot and killed after an alleged stabbing attack involving an an Israeli border police officer. An incident that is “alleged” is an incident without proof that it actually took place. This stabbing incident, as well as the other attacks, have been documented by multiple media outlets, corroborated beyond any reasonable doubt and there is substantial proof that it occurred. There were Israeli injuries. Calling the incident an alleged attack is a patently false statement.

COMMENT

The original Humanize Palestine website presented the following narrative relative to the death of Bayan Ayman Abd al-Hadi al-Esseili:  17 years old, was shot dead the morning of Saturday October 17, 2015, by Israeli Forces in Hebron, … after allegedly stabbing an Israeli border police officer … was the third alleged attack by Palestinians that day, although no Israelis were injured in either incident.

It was an “alleged attack”, no Israelis were injured. This is false. The border policewoman she attacked was slightly injured. The original Humanize Palestine website narrative has readers believing that al-Esseili was the victim. She was a member of the Islamic Bloc, the student arm of Hamas. Hamas is a U.S. designated Foreign Terrorist Organization:

HAMAS / IZZ AL-DIN AL-QASSAM BRIGADES FUNDRAISING SCHEME

Prior to August 2020, the Hamas and Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades websites had a green banner at the top of their home page. This is how the home page of Hamas’ TV station, al-Aqsa TV, appeared on March 16, 2020:

Note the green banner at the top of the page:

The green banner contained an embedded URL that linked to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades website. Clicking on the green banner would open this webpage:

This was a fund raising scheme utilizing cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, to underwrite its terrorism (“resistance”). Note that the solicitation is in English. This would indicate that the fund raising scheme not only targeted Arabic speaking countries but English speaking western countries as well, such as the U.S.

In August 2020, the U.S. government seized the website, funds and assets:

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE SEIZURE

The original Humanize Palestine website memorialized Hamas and al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives, Bayan Ayman Abd al-Hadi al-Esseili is one example. In their own words, they honored the deceased terror operatives as martyrs by bringing them back to life through their pictures, stories, art, and poetry.

Now the victims of these terror operatives have been honored. The U.S. Department of Justice has seized al-Qassam Brigades assets, funds and websites, used to finance their terror campaigns. The monies will be directed to the United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund.
