ولد الشهيد محمد نبيل غانم بتاريخ 9/11/1987م في مدينة رفح، وكان طفلاً مهذباً ومثابراً يطيع والديه ويقوم بالاهتمام بدراسته ولا يعصي أمه ولا أباه إطلاقاً، وكان الشهيد صاحب المكانة الأقوى عند والديه، فلقد كان البكر لهما واهتما به اهتماماً بالغاً، وكان يعامل أهل بيته وإخوانه بكل حب ووفاء وكان يحب إخوانه محبةً خاصة جداً ويحب أولاده، ونظرة الجيران والأقارب له تميزت بكونها نظرة احترام وحب لأنه كان صاحب خلق رفيع، وارتبط الشهيد بالمسجد منذ صغره والتزم بالصلاة وبحلقات تحفيظ القرآن الكريم.

تعليمه المدرسي

درس شهيدنا في مدارس وكالة الغوث برفح، حيث كان متميزاً بين أقرانه، وكان سلوكه طيباً في المدرسة وفي سكنه وفي جميع مراحله التعليمية، ودرس شهيدنا الهندسة في الجامعة الإسلامية، وكان مشاركاً مع الكتلة الإسلامية في الأنشطة المختلفة، واستزاد علماً أيضاً خلال دراسته في جامعة الأقصى.
وكان شهيدنا يعمل في أمن الشخصيات التابع لحركة حماس، ملتزماً جداً في دوامه والوفاء بمهام عمله المطلوبة منه، والتزم شهيدنا في منطقة خربة العدس في مسجد الصحابة وعاش فيه مراحل حياته منذ كان شبلاً.

انتمى شهيدنا في مراحل العمر الأولى في حلقات تحفيظ القرآن الكريم وتمرّس في العمل الدعوي وصولاً لعمله في كتائب القسام متدرّجاً، فقد كان يعمل شهيدنا مدرب في جهاز الأمن والحماية التابع لحركة حماس، وعمل في حماية ومرافقة الشخصيات المهمة في الحركة، وكذلك برع في العمل الدعوي في مسجده.

عمله في القسام

انضم شهيدنا للكتائب منذ أن أنهى دراسته الثانوية العامة، وأفنى شهيدنا معظم وقته في العمل الجهادي، كان نشيطاً جداً ومهتماً جداً في الأنشطة الخاصة بالكتائب حتى أن أهله انتقلوا للعيش في مدينة غزة وبقي وحيداً برفح ليعمل في الكتائب.
بداية عمل شهيدنا في الكتائب كانت متواضعة فقد بدا مسيرته الجهادية كجندي في القسام ومن ثم مسؤول مجموعة ومن ثم مسؤول فصيل وبعد أن رأى منه الإخوة قدرته على حمل المسؤولية تم إختياره ليكون مسؤول فصيل النخبة في سرية الشهيد يحيى البيوك، بالإضافة لعمل شهيدنا كمسؤول لتخصص الدروع.
كان نشيطاً جداً في عمله وحريصاً جداً على الرباط في سبيل الله، وتميز بكونه صبوراً ويتعامل بحب مع إخوانه ومع جميع من يعمل معه، وعمل في وحدة النخبة كأمير لفصيل النخبة.
شارك شهيدنا في العديد من المهمات القتالية الخطرة وكان رحمة الله جريئاً ولا يخشى في الله لومة لائم، مقداماً في كُل ساحةٍ لا يخشى شيئاً، وعرف عنه حُبه الشديد لحور العين فهو دائم التحدث عن الحور العين، شديد الالتزام بالصلوات والنوافل والصيام.

رحيل الفارس

وفي أحد المرابض الجهادية كان محمداً يكمن لأعداء الدين في كمين متقدم ومع سلاح الدروع “الكورنيت”، فقامت قوات الاحتلال بالترصد له هو وإثنين من إخوته المجاهدين هما الشهيد عبد الله الأخرس والشهيد بشير عبد العال، فتم رصدهم من قبل قوات الاحتلال بعد أن أطلقوا صاروخ “كورنيت” تجاه دبابة شاء الله أن يتعطل الصاروخ قبل وصوله للدبابة، فتم كشف المربض وبقرارٍ سريع انتقلوا إلى مربض آخر وبعد فترة تم كشف مكانهم ورصدهم، وألقت عليهم المدفعية الصهيونية قذائفهم ليرتقوا شهداءاً إلى ربهم، طامعين في جنانه وحور العين.

Today, Thursday, after an artillery shell fell on a house east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. Local sources said that the Israeli artillery targeted a house belonging to the “Abu Asnimah” family, east of Rafah, which led to the martyrdom of three citizens and arrived at the “Abu Hospital”. The spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qedra, announced the names of the three martyrs, who are, the martyr Abdullah Salem Al-Akhras, 27, the martyr Bashir Muhammad Abdel-Al, 20, and the martyr Muhammad Ziyad Ghanem, 25.

INCIDENT SUMMARY

Field Commander Mohammed Ziad Ghanem was the leader of a three man team in the “armor corp”, consisting of himself and Bashir Abdul-Al and Abdullah Salem al-Akhras. Their weapon was the Kornet anti-tank guided missile.

After seven days of searching, they found a target, a bus carrying soldiers. They fired the Kornet missile, it malfunctioned, revealing their location, they left, went to a second location which was set up in advance.

They stayed in the second location for nine days, a house belonging to the Abu Asnimah family, east of Rafah. The house was targeted by Israeli artillery and the three terror operatives were killed.

THE FACTS

Mohammed Ziad Ghanem was killed in a house east of Rafah after he and two other Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives attempted to hit an Israeli bus with a Kornet anti-tank missile. He was killed with Abdullah Salem al-Akhras and Bashir Mohammad Abdul-‘Al.

WEBSITE’S FALSE NARRATIVES CREATE EXAGGERATED UNTRUTHFUL CIVILIAN CASUALTY FIGURES

The original Humanize Palestine website was a memorial for martyred Palestinian terrorists. The website created false narratives for these individuals by utilizing texts and photographs to conceal their terror organization affiliations. This allowed the website to represent these individuals as either civilian casualties of war or as innocent Palestinian protesters, all victims of the ‘Israeli occupation’.

Like Hamas, the original Humanize Palestine website created false narratives to support the deception that many more civilians were killed by the Israeli security apparatus than terror combatants. As stated above, this was accomplished by falsely representing martyred combatants and street terrorists as civilian casualties of war or innocent protesters. However, the original Humanize Palestine website enhanced this deception by utilizing an additional more subtle technique. Their website untruthfully exaggerated the number of incidents involving the deaths of martyred Palestinian terrorists who were falsely represented as civilian casualties of war. This created the perception that many more Palestinian civilians were killed than actually were. The Mohammed Ziyad Ghanem narrative is an example of this deception.

Mohammed Ziad Ghanem was killed together with Bashir Abdul-‘Al, in the same incident. However, the reader would never know this by reading the narratives appearing on the original Humanize Palestine website, Ghanem and Bashir Abdul-‘Al webpages.

THE DECEPTION

“Mohammed Ziyad Ghanem, 25 years old, was killed on Thursday, July 17, 2014 in Rafah.”

Two different narratives falsely created the deception that they were both killed in two unrelated incidents. The truth is found on the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades website:

THE TRUTH

“… the brothers leader Mohammed Ghanem and the Mujahid Abdullah Al-Akhras and Mujahid Bashir Abdel-Aal, stationed in their garage with the Cornet rifle, were watching the targets … over the course of nine days remained Bashir and his brothers in the second basement … until they were spotted and targeted by artillery shell led to the death of all of them ….”

The original Humanize Palestine website falsely created a narrative that Ghanem and Abdel-Aal had died in two separate incidents. But they did not, they were killed in the same incident, two Qassamis, Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives, falsely represented by the original Humanize Palestine website as civilian casualties of war

CREATING FALSE NARRATIVES WITH PHOTOGRAPHS

The original Humanize Palestine website routinely did this, the photographs of the Palestinian ‘martyrs’ on their website concealed their terror organization affiliation. Mohammed Ziyad Ghanem is an example of this.

The Hearing and Sight Foundation for Development and Community Rehabilitation is a Qatari NGO charity. It states that its charitable projects in Gaza support the needy, the poor, widows and orphans, especially the parents of cochlear-planted children, many of whom can not afford rehabilitation fees, transportation and other expenses. This is not completely true and misrepresents what the charity presently does in Gaza.

The charity covertly supports and rewards the families of martyred Palestinian terror operatives, affiliates and combatants such as Mohammed Ziyad Ghanem and Abdullah al-Akhras. By falsely claiming that the charity supports the needy, poor, widows and orphans, the parents of cochlear-planted children, they are concealing their true mission. Receiving aid is not dependent on any of the above. Being needy and poor is not a requirement. The predicate for receiving aid is the family’s affiliation with a Gaza terror organization. The charity supports and rewards the children, widows and orphans of dead Palestinian terror operatives.

Islamic law does not allow adoption, taking someone else’s child as your own. The closest thing to adoption that is is allowed is legal foster care known as “kafala” (كَفَالَة). Kafala is the Islamic legal institution analogous to guardianship and it is used instead of adoption. The Qatari charity is the legal guardian of the 239 children who appeared on their website’s kafala photo gallery, the sons and daughters of martyred Gaza terror operatives. The photo gallery consisted of twenty pages, twelve children per page, eleven on Page 20.

The charity’s website and kafala photo gallery were removed from the internet. Before this happened, most of the website and the twenty pages of photographs were archived. Below, a partial screen grab of one of the archived kafala pages:

HAMAS / IZZ AL-DIN AL-QASSAM BRIGADES FUNDRAISING SCHEME

Prior to August 2020, the Hamas and Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades websites had a green banner at the top of their home page. This is how the home page of Hamas’ TV station, al-Aqsa TV, appeared on March 16, 2020:

The green banner contained an embedded URL that linked to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades website. Clicking on the green banner would open this webpage:

This was a fund raising scheme utilizing cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, to underwrite its terrorism (“resistance”). Note that the solicitation is in English. This would indicate that the fund raising scheme not only targeted Arabic speaking countries but English speaking western countries as well, such as the U.S.

In August 2020, the U.S. government seized the website, funds and assets:

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE SEIZURE

The original Humanize Palestine website memorialized al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives, Mohammed Ziyad Ghanem was one example. In their own words, they honored the deceased terror operatives as martyrs by bringing them back to life through their pictures, stories, art, and poetry.

Now the victims of these terror operatives have been honored. The U.S. Department of Justice has seized al-Qassam Brigades assets, funds and websites, used to finance their terror campaigns. The monies will be directed to the United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund.
