Rahed Taysir al-Hom, 43 years old, was killed on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, when a 500 kg bomb he was trying to defuse exploded. The undetonated bomb was dropped by an Israeli F-16 in a pile on the soccer field, which sits between a religious court and a food distribution center. Rahed was the head of the sole bomb disposal unit north of Gaza.

Before Rahed was killed:

“Every time I hear that someone has been injured by a bomb on the ground I feel very sorry. This is my responsibility. But we are very limited and don’t have proper equipment. My wife thinks I will come home one day in pieces in a box.”

He had been defusing bombs, rockets and shells for five of his 20 years in the Gaza police. He had some training from international experts but gained most of his skills “on the job”.

نشاته

في بيت متواضع من بيوت المخيم، وفي أرض الرباط فلسطين ومن بين الألم والظلم الواقع على أبناء شعبنا، يولد تيسير الحوم ليشهد العام 1972 ميلاد البطل المقدام، لتولد العزيمة وسط المعاناة.
تميز قائدنا البطل بالمعاملة الحسنة وبر والديه واصلاً لرحمه معاملاً الناس معاملة حسنة، يحب أن يساعد الآخرين فكسب محبة الجميع في منطقته فقد شهد له جيرانه وأبناء الحي بطيبته ومعاملته الحسنة ولم يتسبب بأي مشاكل مع أحد فعلاقته كانت طيبة مع الجميع ممن عرفه .
درس المرحلة الابتدائية والإعدادية في مخيم جباليا ، ثم حصل على الثانوية العامة ، بعدها درس في معهد الأزهر الشريف ولكنه لم يكمل الدراسة بسبب اعتقاله في سجون الصهاينة.

التزامه

في مسجد العودة إلى الله تربى جهاد على موائد القرآن الكريم، ونهل من تعاليم الإسلام الحنيف وأخلاقه السامية العالية، وتشرب حب الجهاد في سبيل الله عز وجل وعشق الشهادة لنيل عظيم الأجر والثواب، ولقد عرف جهاد بين إخوانه في المسجد بشدة التزامه مند الطفولة وهو ملتزم في المسجد فكان من أوائل من حمل هم الدعوة والعمل في المسجد ومن مؤسسي لجان المساجد عمل في أكثر من لجنة

تاريخه الدعوي والعسكري

بايع الشهيد الحركة الاسلامية بتاريخ 1\1\2002 وفى بعهده والتزم به , حصل على العديد من الدورات منها : التأهيلية , طلائع, اعداد دعاة ، والتحق شهيدنا القائد بصفوف كتائب الشهيد عز الدين القسام عام 2001 ، فكان قائدا لسرية في كتيبة الشهيد سهيل زيادة  لفترة زمنية ، ثم التحق بوحدة هندسة المتفجرات في الشرطة الفلسطينية.

استشهاده

سطر البطل حياته الجهادية بمحطات ومواقف جهادية مميزة، ومن أهمها أنه شارك في المجموعات التي ترابط على الثغور، والحدود الشمالية والشرقية، لمخيم جباليا وصد مع إخوانه المجاهدين معظم الاجتياحات الصهيونية على المنطقة الشمالية.
حيث ارتقى شهيداً بتاريخ 13\8\2014م ،أثناء عمله المتواصل في هندسة المتفجرات، حيث كان ينقل ويفكفك ما تبقى من مخلفات الاحتلال التي لم تنفجر الى مكان آمن وأثناء عمله في تأمين ما تبقى من صواريخ الاحتلال، انفجر صاروخ أدى إلى استشهاده ومن كان معه من الفريق .

My qualifications first: retired USAF Explosive Ordnance Disposal, since ’95 an active UXO Technician (UneXploded Ordnance Tech).

This supposed Bomb Tech was not a Bomb Tech. First rule is minimum personel on site, this minimizes threat, and prevents exactly what happened, where a detonation of the item of his immediate concern kills multiple people. Five deaths, he wasn’t performing an RSP (Render Safe Procedure), he was hosting a damn tea party. Secondly, he remove the item to the football field across the street from the Police Department, with other ordnance. This allowed the first detonation to cause a second detonation, all unsafe ordnance is seperated a safe distance to prevent this, he didn’t. He was in a war zone, you don’t collect ordnance, you render them safe, then dispose of them.

EOD are first responders, and their mission is to save lives, this ass wasn’t EOD, he was a terrorist. He was not rendering hazardous ordnance safe, he was collecting dud ordnance to harvest explosives for HAMAS IEDs. He facilitated HAMAS Terrorist Activity. He was more concerned with harvesting explosives so lives could be taken, and not a life saver.

PATENTLY FALSE NARRATIVE, ORIGINAL HUMANIZE PALESTINE WEBSITE

The original Humanize Palestine website contains many narratives whose stories overlap. Some terror operatives on the website are either related by family, by the terror organizations they belong to, or by a shared incident. All the narratives are false and in effect, conceal the true identity of the terrorist. The Rahed Taysir al-Hom narrative is an example of this obfuscation.

The al-Hom narrative states that he was “the head of the sole bomb disposal unit north of Gaza.” it also states that he was a member of the Gaza police for 20 years. In reality, he was a member of a Foreign Terrorist Organization, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, in 2001 he was a brigade commander, the Martyr Suhail Ziadeh Brigade. His speciality was “the engineering of explosives” which suggests the harvesting of explosives from dud ordinances for the purpose of manufacturing Hamas IEDs.

THE FACTS

Rahed Taysir al-Hom was a Field Commander in the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades when he died.

The following appears on the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades website: “He was the leader of the Martyr Suhail Ziadeh Brigade for the period of 2001. He was the commander of the Martyr Suhail Ziadeh Brigade for a period of one year. And then joined the explosives engineering unit in the Palestinian police.”

Some time after 2001, al-Hom joined the the explosives unit of the Gaza Police. He died in 2014. Al-Hom would have been working in the police force defusing bombs for 13 years. In reality, he was an Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades Field Commander working in the police force defusing bombs.

At the time of his death, al-Hom was a “Qassami” an Izz al-Din fighter, soldier, engaged “in the engineering of explosives.”

The family of al-Hom is currently being rewarded by a Qatari charity for his affiliation with the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, a Foreign Terrorist Organization. The charity has not assumed the guardianship of his children because of his work as a policeman defusing bombs. The charity rewards the family with US dollars, goods and services because he was a “Qassami” when he died working on an unexploded ordinance, he was a Hamas soldier, fighter.

QATARI COVERT FUNDING OF GAZA TERROR ORGANIZATIONS

THE HEARING AND SIGHT FOUNDATION FOR DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY REHABILITATION

The Hearing and Sight Foundation for Development and Community Rehabilitation is a Qatari NGO charity. It states that its charitable projects in Gaza support the needy, the poor, widows and orphans, especially the parents of cochlear-planted children, many of whom can not afford rehabilitation fees, transportation and other expenses. This is not completely true and misrepresents what the charity presently does in Gaza.

The charity covertly supports and rewards the families of martyred Palestinian terror operatives, affiliates and combatants such as Rahed Taysir al-Hom. By falsely claiming that the charity supports the needy, poor, widows and orphans, the parents of cochlear-planted children, they are concealing their true mission. Receiving aid is not dependent on any of the above. Being needy and poor is not a requirement. The predicate for receiving aid is the family’s affiliation with a Gaza terror organization. The charity supports and rewards the children, widows and orphans of dead Palestinian terror operatives.

Islamic law does not allow adoption, taking someone else’s child as your own. The closest thing to adoption that is is allowed is legal foster care known as “kafala” (كَفَالَة). Kafala is the Islamic legal institution analogous to guardianship and it is used instead of adoption. The Qatari charity is the legal guardian of the 239 children who appeared on their website’s kafala photo gallery, the sons and daughters of martyred Gaza terror operatives. The photo gallery consisted of twenty pages, twelve children per page, eleven on Page 20.

The charity’s website and kafala photo gallery were removed from the internet. Before this happened, most of the website and the twenty pages of photographs were archived. Below, a partial screen grab of one of the archived kafala pages:

Prior to August 2020, the Hamas and Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades websites had a green banner at the top of their home page. This is how the home page of Hamas’ TV station, al-Aqsa TV, appeared on March 16, 2020:

The green banner contained an embedded URL that linked to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades website. Clicking on the green banner would open this webpage:

This was a fund raising scheme utilizing cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, to underwrite its terrorism (“resistance”). Note that the solicitation is in English. This would indicate that the fund raising scheme not only targeted Arabic speaking countries but English speaking western countries as well, such as the U.S.

In August 2020, the U.S. government seized the website, funds and assets:

The original Humanize Palestine website memorialized Hamas and al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives, Rahed Taysir al-Hom was one example. In their own words, they honored the deceased terror operatives as martyrs by bringing them back to life through their pictures, stories, art, and poetry.

Now the victims of these terror operatives have been honored. The U.S. Department of Justice has seized al-Qassam Brigades assets, funds and websites, used to finance their terror campaigns. The monies will be directed to the United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund.
