On Wednesday 9 July 2014, 3 members of the El-Masri family and a relative were killed by Israeli airstrikes.
They were:
- Sahar ‘Ali El-Masri (Hamdan), 40 years old, was the mother of Muhammad, Aseel, and Shaima’
- Mohammad Ibrahim El-Masri, 13 years old
- Aseel Ibrahim El-Masri, 17 years old
- Amjad Zaher Hamdan, 24 years old, was the nephew of Sahar
Sahar ‘Ali al-Masri (Hamdan) and her children Muhammad, Aseel, and Shaima’, 4 years old, headed home after visiting a relative in the Beit Hanoun area. Sahar decided that they would go back on foot fearing the continuous Israeli bombardment of the area. Her nephew Amjad Zaher Hamdan, 24, accompanied them on their walk to their house. At that time, Israeli aircrafts could be heard all over the neighbourhood.
While on their way back, Sahar’s sister-in-law, Samah, 47, who lives on the same street, heard a loud explosion. Samah went outside her house and saw white smoke coming out of al-Na’ayma Street and saw Sahar and her children attempting to escape. Samah heard another explosion as more white smoke rose from the same location where Sahar, her children and nephew were. A few seconds later, the dust cleared out and Samah could see Sahar and the children lying in the middle of the street covered with blood. Two consecutive Israeli airstrikes hit, injuring Sahar, her children and nephew.
Upon Samah’s arrival to the hospital, the doctors declared Sahar dead due to injuries sustained in the head and back. Her son Muhammad was also announced dead due to injuries he sustained in the head, and so was Amjad, her nephew, who was hit with shrapnel in the head and chest. The doctors informed Samah that Aseel and Shaima’, Sahar’s daughters, had sustained very serious injuries in the chest and stomach and were both transferred to al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza for surgeries. At approximately 4:00 A.M. of the next day, Aseel was declared dead.
According to Samah, since the surgery, Shaima’ has been waking up in hospital crying, asking for her mother and why she has not come to visit her yet. Shaima’ witnessed her mother, two siblings and her cousin getting killed before her eyes. Samah tries to comfort Shaima’ and tell her that her mother is on her way to visit her as her father hugs her. Shaima’ and her father, Ibrahim, are the only two members left from their immediate family. Ibrahim finds it really hard to answer Shaima’s questions as she wakes up asking for her mother, her sister Aseel and her brother Muhammad.
Aseel was getting ready for her wedding party that was supposed to occur after the holy month of Ramadan, sometime in August.
“Mohammad used to love playing football. He loved acting and dancing Debka. Everybody loved his smile and his sense of humor. His friends are very sad about his death, and say that they will miss him and his smile.”

شاركالإعلام الحربي – خاص للواقع المأمول ألف حكاية وحكاية خطها شباب نسجو الأمل بنزف جرحهم وعزف البارود الذي استوغل في أجسادهم المتعبة بوجع الفقر المستقر في أيام عمرهم صمدوا فكان الصمود لحنا تنشده عيونهم الساهرة فوق ركام بيوتهم المدمرة تستأنس بفئ النور المنبعث من ذاكرة الشهداء، توالت أيامهم وأصبحت كسابقاتها أغلقت أبواب تتلوها أبواب وأنهكت جوارحهم من تكرار المحاولة فقرروا ان يغامروا بزهرة أيامهم علهم يصنعوا شعاع يبزغ املاً وان شق طريقه عبر زرقائها التي لا تعرف الرحمة بمن استوحش بحلكتها ليلاً غادروا والأمل يتسلل عبر عيونهمويرسم حياة تلفظ كل فقر وتلعن كل تعب لكن الفاجعة كانت أسرع من الحلم الذي تحطم عند أول نقطة على خطى واقعهم المأمول. على أنقاض منزله المهدم تتجمع عائلته لتروي لـ “الإعلام الحربي” حكايتها في أيام العدوان على غزة وتروي لنا قصة ابنها الشهيد المجاهد “أمجد زاهر حمدان” ضابط سلاح الإشارة في كتيبة الشهيد عبد الله السبع في “لواء الشمال”. بزوغ الفجر“أم ناجي” والدة الشهيد أمجد تحدثت في بداية حديثها لـ “الإعلام الحربي” عن نشأته ولحظة بزوغ فجر فلذة كبدها ، قائلةً: “ولد نجلي أمجد بتاريخ 21 / 10 / 1990 م والتحق بمدارس بيت حانون وكان من المميزين في دراسته حتى أنهى تعليمه الثانوي ونظراً للظروف الحياتية الصعبة لم يتمكن من إكمال دراسته الجامعية، فالتحق بجامعة الإيمان والوعي والثورة جامعة الجهاد الاسلامي”. وعن الصفات التي تحلى بها نجلها أمجد قالت والدته:” كان أمجد محبوباً من الجميع فقد كان أصحابه متعلقون به كثيراً وكانوا يترددون على بيتنا بشكل شبه يومي، مشيرةً الى قربه الشديد منها، وانه كان دوماً يخلق جو مرح داخل البيت”. وتابعة حديثها قائلةً:” كان أمجد يداوم على الصلاة في المسجد وخاصة صلاة الفجر وكان حنونا على اخوته وأهل بيته وأصحابه وكان عنيدا على الحق يصرخ بكلمة الحق في وجه الجميع لا يخاف في الله لومة لائم”. آخر لحظةوعن آخر يوم رأت فيه نجلها الشهيد أمجد قالت والدته:” كان أمجد يفطر مع زوجته ويأتي مباشرة ليجلس عندي قبل أن يذهب لصلاة العشاء والتراويح في بداية شهر رمضان أما في العدوان فكان يأتيني ويجلس ثم يذهب ليصلي، وقبل استشهاده بيوم طلب من زوجته أن تذهب للإفطار مع أهلها لأنه يريد أن يكون معي على مائدة الإفطار ولم نكن نعرف بأنها ستكون آخر مائدة وآخر لقاء معه”. رجل من طفولتهمن جانبه تحدث والد الشهيد أمجد حمدان عن الصفات التي تحلى بها نجله، قائلاً:” كان أمجد رحمه الله نشيط جدا وكان قوي الشخصية منذ طفولته وكنت اشعر برجولته وشجاعته، وكنت اشعر بأنه جانبي في كل الأوقات ولم أتصور في يوم بان يكون بعيدا عني ولكن قدر الله كان نافذا، وكان يقدم عمله الجهادي على أي شيء آخر ففي ساعات عمله عندي في ورشة دهان السيارات يأتيني ليطلب مني بان يخرج ساعة فيخرج وأحيانا لا يعود إلا في وقت متأخر من الليل”. موقف لا ينسىواستذكر والد الشهيد أمجد آخر موقف له قبل رحيله نحو الجنان قائلاً:” آخر موقف لنجلي أمجد والذي لن أنساه عندما كان يلاعب ابنه الصغير حذيفة وقبل استشهاده بنصف ساعة قال له:” خلاص يا بابا أنا لأي وقت بدي أظل أخدمك لازم تعتمد على نفسك”. هذه الكلمات التي قالها لابنه الصغير كان يشعر بأنه سوف يرحل سريعا ولم نكن نعلم بأن أمجد سوف يرحل عنا بعد دقائق معدودة”. مشيراً إلى انه كتب وصيته أمام والدته وزوجته قبل استشهاده بأسبوعين واخبرهم بأنه يشعر بقرب اجله ليرحل عن هذه الدنيا الزائلة”. منبع للأمن والأمانمن جانبها تحدثت زوجة الشهيد أمجد حمدان لـ”الإعلام الحربي” عن بعض الصفات التي تحلى بها زوجها، قائلةً: “أمجد كان حنونا وكنت اشعر بأنه دائما معي وكان يساعدني في كل شيء حتى في تربية أبنائي ولم اشعر بأنه قصر بشيء بالعكس كنت دائما استمد منه الحنان وبجواره أجد الأمن والأمان”. وأضافت الزوجة الصابرة:” كان أمجد يحمل نجله حذيفة وبعد إطلاق طائرات الاحتلال الصاروخ الأول الذي سقط بجوار خالته وأبنائها خرج امجد مسرعا لإنقاذهم فأعطاني حذيفة وقال لي ابعدي من المكان وبمجرد سرت إلى الوراء بضعة أمتار سمعت إطلاق الصاروخ الثاني كنت خائفة جدا ولم التفت ورائي ولكن بعد وقت قليل رجعت وشاهدت بعض المصابين يطلبون المساعدة ولكن لم يكن احد وبدا المصابون يحاولون الوقوف شاهدت بعضهم إلا أنني لم أرى أمجد فقد استشهد على الفور وعندما علمت بان امجد استشهد تلقيت خبر استشهاده بالصبر والاحتساب”.رحلة الجهادأبو عمر احد مجاهدي سرايا القدس بكتيبة الشهيد عبدالله السبع واحد رفقاء درب الشهيد المجاهد أمجد حمدان” تحدث لـ “الإعلام الحربي” عن أبرز المحطات الجهادية للشهيد حيث قال: التحق الشهيد أبو حذيفة بحركة الجهاد الإسلامي في العام 2008 ، وشارك في كافة فعالياتالحركة الجهادية، ونظراً لإلتزامه الشديد وإلحاحه على قيادته تم إختياره ليكون مجاهداً بالسرايا عام 2009، ومن ثم انتقل للعمل في سلاح الإشارة التابع لسرايا القدس ليكون ضابط الإشارة في كتيبة الشهيد عبدالله السبع، مشيراً الى ان أمجد أثبت جدارته في عمله، فكان مرابطاً لا يتوانى لحظة واحدة عن البذل والجود في سبيل الله. وتابع ابو عمر حديثه لـ”الاعلام الحربي”: “أمجد شارك في التصدي لعمليات التوغل الصهيونية التي شهدتها بلدة بيت حانون، وشارك كذلك في الرباط على الثغور، وعمل مؤخراً في سلاح الإشارة التابع لسرايا القدس في لواء الشمال، وكان نعم المجاهد الفاعل في هذا المجال”.رحلة الخلود
بعد أن شن العدو الصهيوني حربه على قطاع غزة، ووجهت فصائل المقاومة ضرباتها الصاروخية نحو المدن الفلسطينية المحتلة، وأصبح العدو يتخبط ويقذف بحمم صواريخه في كل مكان وبعد ان شاهد شهيدنا أمجد الطائرات الصهيونية تطلق صاروخا بالقرب من منزله لتستهدف خالته واثنين من أبنائها هب مسرعا ليسعفهم وعند وصوله لمكان الاستهداف أطلقت الطائرات صاروخا آخر أصاب شهيدنا مباشرة ليرتقي شهيدا بتاريخ 8/7/2014 م لتلتقي روحه الطاهرة بروح قائده الذي سبقه القائد حافظ حمد الذي سبقه بيوم ولتعانق أرواحهما الجنان.

THE INCIDENT – SUMMARY
Amjad Hamdan, a member of the Foreign Terrorist Organization, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, al-Quds Brigades, “worked in the signal weapon”. The “signal weapon” is the radio used for wireless communication, command and control. While with his relatives, his aunt and cousins, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad website stated that the Zionist aircraft were “watching” him.
The original Humanize Palestine website narrative stated that Sahar ‘Ali al-Masri (Hamdan) and her children Muhammad, Aseel, and Shaima’ headed home after visiting a relative in the Beit Hanoun area. Sahar decided that they would go back on foot fearing the continuous Israeli bombardment of the area. Her nephew Amjad Zaher Hamdan, 24, accompanied them on their walk to their house. At that time, Israeli aircrafts could be heard all over the neighbourhood.
Amjad Hamdan was a terror operative combatant, his specialty was radio communications, command and control. In Arabic, this is referred to as “the signal weapon”. He was targeted while walking with his relatives who were returning to their home. Most likely, while he was with them, he was using his military radio, which was a source of radio traffic monitored by the IDF. This would explain why the IDF was “watching” him and why they targeted him.
Amjad Hamdan was walking in the street in close proximity to his family members and when the IDF targeted him, he escaped while his aunt and cousins were struck by the first missile. A second missile was launched, targeting Hamdan again and this time, killed him.
