زارت حركة المقاومة الإسلامية حماس وأسرة مسجد عمر بن عبد العزيز في منطقة السوارحة وسط قطاع غزة ، عائلة الشهيد القسامي علاء ناهض مطر الذي ارتقى خلال العدوان الإسرائيلي على غزة . ورحبت العائلة بالوفد الزائر، وأكدت أنها ثابتة على ما مات عليه ابنها الشهيد علاء حتى يكتب الله النصر أو الشهادة. وقال والد الشهيد إن ابنه سعى للشهادة وارتقى وهو مجاهد يرفع الرأس مشددا أنه مفخرة له وللعائلة، مشيرا إلى أنه على ثقة أن دماء الشهداء لن تذهب هدرا إن شاء الله. وأشاد الوفد بصمود وثبات العائلة داعيا الله سبحانه وتعالى أن يتغمد الشهيد في واسع رحمته وأن يكتب لنا نصرا عاجلا غير آجل، وقد صورة تذكارية للشهيد المجاهد.

وأثناء معركة العصف المأكول (العدوان على قطاع غزة، صيف 2014م)، أوكلت قيادة القسام، مهمة نقل عتاد عسكري، لمجاهدنا إبراهيم الديراوي، والشهيد المجاهد علاء مطر، وذلك يوم 29 رمضان المبارك.
وحسب عائلته، فإن نجلها البكر، تناول السحور في المنزل، ثم ذهب لصلاة الفجر، وعاد لمنزله، لأخذ قسط من الراحة، ثم تركه في ساعات الصباح الأولي، بعد اتصال عسكري.
ولم يتوانى، حبيب القلوب، والمجاهد الصنديد، في التأخير عن مهمته الجهادية وهي “نقل قذائف هاون لاحدي المدافع الأرضية”، تمهيدا لقصف الاحتلال الإسرائيلي وآلياته العسكرية المتوغلة داخل قطاع غزة .. وبعد أن نجح في مهمته، اغتالته طائرة إسرائيلية “بدون طيار”، ليرحل إلي ربه صائما.
ومع تناول تمرات الإفطار حين حلول آذان المغرب في مسجد أبو عبيدة، فقد المصلين خادم المسجد إبراهيم الديراوي، والذي كان يجمع “نواة التمر” من المصلين، ليفتقده المصلين بالبكاء والدعاء له بالرحمة.

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades leadership assigned the task of transporting mortar shells to Alaa Matar and Ibrahim al-Derawi on July 27, 2014. THE FACTS
FACT #1: Matar was not killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the Nusseirat refugee camp. He was killed in an airstrike that targeted him.
FACT #2: Matar, a Hamas terror operative, was killed while engaged in combat operations, he was transporting ammunition to a mortar position to be used in an imminent attack.
FACT #3: Ibrahim Khalil ad-Derawi, killed with Matar in the same attack, was an al-Qassam Brigades terror operative combatant. He was engaged with Matar, in the same operation, when the two of them were targeted and killed.
FACT #4: They may or may not have been killed during a “ceasefire”, however, if a ceasefire was in effect, their activities, setting up gun positions with ammunition would have been in violation of the ceasefire.

Prior to August 2020, the Hamas and Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades websites had a green banner at the top of their home page. This is how the home page of Hamas’ TV station, al-Aqsa TV, appeared on March 16, 2020:

The green banner contained an embedded URL that linked to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades website. Clicking on the green banner would open this webpage:
This was a fund raising scheme utilizing cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, to underwrite its terrorism (“resistance”). Note that the solicitation is in English. This would indicate that the fund raising scheme not only targeted Arabic speaking countries but English speaking western countries as well, such as the U.S.
In August 2020, the U.S. government seized the website, funds and assets:

The original Humanize Palestine website memorialized Hamas and al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives, Ala Nahedh Matar and Ibrahim Khalil Al-Dirawi were two examples. In their own words, they honored the deceased terror operatives as martyrs by bringing them back to life through their pictures, stories, art, and poetry.
Now the victims of these terror operatives have been honored. The U.S. Department of Justice has seized al-Qassam Brigades assets, funds and websites, used to finance their terror campaigns. The monies will be directed to the United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund.
