Mustafa ‘Adel al-Khatib, 18 years old, was shot and killed on Monday, October 12, 2015 by the Israeli army. He was only in high school.
Eyewitnesses said that Khatib was driving in his car in a narrow street between the al-Asbat Gate and Hatta Gate, in the Old City, before the soldiers ordered him to stop, and instantly ordered fire on him, after he allegedly stabbed an Israeli soldier. He was from Sur Baher town in Occupied Jerusalem.
A Palestinian medic told Al-Jazeera Mubasher that the slain teen “was shot while still in his car,” after the soldiers suspected that he might intend to stab them, and that they fired several live rounds on him.

Earlier, Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian teenager in East Jerusalem after an alleged stabbing attempt on border police officers, Israeli police said.
Israeli police spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld said the suspect pulled out a knife at officers and was shot dead at the scene.
The incident occurred near Lion’s Gate, with the area closed off afterwards.
Israeli news site the Times of Israel reported that border police asked a Palestinian man to take his hands out of his pockets after becoming suspicious, at which point the suspect attempted to attack the officer, hitting his protective vest.
The attacker was then shot multiple times.
Palestinian witnesses told Ma’an that there was no attempted stabbing at the time of the shooting, and the man was killed as he was walking in the area.
The suspect was identified as Mustafa Adel al-Khatib, 18.
