“Israeli forces have killed a Palestinian man and arrested the speaker of parliament, as the hunt for three Israelis believed to have been kidnapped in the occupied West Bank continues.
Twenty-one-year-old Ahmed Sabarin was shot in the chest, according to hospital officials at the Palestine Medical Centre, as the Israeli army conducted house-to-house searches in al-Jalazon refugee camp, on the edge of Ramallah.
Sabarin died of his wounds in the hospital. Another man was wounded in the assault, and at least five others from the camp were arrested. The Israeli army said Sabarin was shot after throwing a brick at Israeli soldiers.”

INCIDENT SUMMARY
On June 12, 2014, three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped and murdered by Palestinian terrorists, members of Hamas. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) initiated Operation Brother’s Keeper in search of the three. As part of the operation, in the following 11 days Israel arrested 350 Palestinians, including nearly all of Hamas’ West Bank leaders.
The Hebron and South Hebron Hills were the focus of investigations by a large number of troops, numbering 2,500 together with security agents, police, and special forces, all engaged in a manhunt in what the IDF termed ‘Operation Shuvu Achim (Return, Brothers/Bringing Back Our Brothers), which was referred to in English as ‘Brothers Keeper’.
On June 16, 400 IDF soldiers raided the Jalazone refugee camp near Ramallah, killing Ahmad Arafat Samada, also known as Ahmad Sabarin. He had been released from prison the week before and while he was on a friend’s rooftop, threw a brick at IDF troops who were engaged in conducting house-to-house searches. He was shot by IDF soldiers who were on an opposite rooftop.
