Salem Khaleel Shamaly, 23 years old, was shot and killed by an Israeli sniper on Sunday, July 20, 2014, while he was looking for his relatives in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood. He was shot multiple times while on the ground amid the rubble. His family learned of his death through a video that was released.
“In footage filmed by a Palestinian TV crew and released by the International Solidarity Movement, Salem Khaleel Shamaly searches through the rubble created by Israeli air strikes in hope of finding his family in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood.”
According to Salem’s cousin Mohammad Al-Qattawi, Salem’s decomposed body was brought to his father on July 26, 2014, and his family was unable to say goodbye to him. Salem’s father waited 11 years to receive his first son. He worked as a grocer with his father in Gaza City’s old market and leaves behind his 7 sisters and his parents.

Yesterday, international and Palestinian volunteers accompanied Civil Defence and other rescue crews, as well as family members, into Shajiya neighbourhood in Gaza. They attempted to locate survivors of overnight and ongoing shelling by the Israeli army. A young Palestinian man in a green shirt hoped to find his family. He was shot by an Israeli soldier while crossing an alley between buildings. Two additional rounds struck him as he lay injured on the ground. His dead body could not be retrieved.

ANALYSIS
All three photos, all different views of the same ambulance, appearing on three different websites, document that the ambulance is parked in the exact same location on the same street, 7/20/14, a street blocked with litter created by the previous nights combat. However, the same ambulance that appears in the ISM video, also dated 7/20/14, appears to be parked in the exact same location, a street that is not blocked by combat debris. Obviously the ISM video of the ambulance could not have been made on 7/20/14, it must have been produced at a later date after the debris was removed. This suggests that the entire video was not made on 7/20/14 and that it was staged.

ANALYSIS
The ambulance in three different photographs, appearing in three different on-line publications, is the same ambulance and all three photos were taken on the same date, 7/20/14.
All three ambulance photographs show the same damage to the left front fender, clearly documenting the fact that all three vehicles in the three photos, are in fact the same vehicle.
The ambulance in the ISM video also has the same damaged left front fender, obviously it is the same ambulance, BUT there is no debris field in the street. Conclusion: The ISM video of the ambulance could not have been made on 7/20/14.
3- STAGED SHOOTING
At Minute 2:38 and 2:54 you can hear a crack!, allegedly the sound of a rifle report. It is not. It is the the detonation of a squib: crack! A squib is a miniature explosive device used in a wide range of industries, from special effects in movies to military applications. It resembles a tiny stick of dynamite. Today squibs are used in motion picture special effects to simulate bullet impacts.
At minute 2:54, as the squib is detonated, you can see the smoke and hear the crack at the same time:
A rifle round travels at a speed of 2.5 times the speed of sound. Had it been a rifle bullet that hit the ground with a puff of white smoke, an observer would first see the smoke and then after a brief delay, hear the rifle report. This was not the case in the ISM video, the smoke and the sound (crack!) occur at the exact same time, which is consistent with the effect created by a squib, a special effects device used in making movies.

Listen to the loud percussive delayed report of the rifle after the blocks are hit – POAM! This doesn’t even come close to the high-pitched squib-crack on the ISM video
ANALYSIS
After watching what the Lapua does to cement blocks, where are the wounds on Shamaly, the “Green Shirt”? No wounds on his entire body:
SUMMARY
1- The shooting incident involving the “Green Shirt”, Shamaly, could not and did not take place on 7/20/14. Three separate photographs on three different websites demonstrate this fact.
2- The same ambulance in the same location appears in all three photographs and in the ISM video.
3- Shamaly could not have been shot by an Israeli sniper. Shamaly was not shot, there are no wounds on his body.
4- The shooting of Shamaly was staged, a squib was used to simulate rifle shots.
CONCLUSION
The facts demonstrate that the entire video was staged.

THE FACTS
FACT #1: The ISM video showing Shamlay being shot, was not made on July 20, 2014. The entire incident never happened and the allegation that Shamaly was shot and killed on July 20, 2014, it totally false.
The two photographs below show the same ambulance, in the same location, both alleged to have been taken on the same day, 7/20/14, the same day the ISM video allegedly shows Shamlay being shot by an Israeli sniper. The top photo is from an on-line news website. The bottom photo is a screen grab from the ISM Shamlay shooting video.
The simple fact is that the two images could not have been recorded on the same date, 7/20/14. The top photo, which is corroborated by two other independent websites, depicts an ambulance parked in a street completely blocked by debris. The bottom photo (screen grab) from the ISM shooting video, shows a street not blocked with debris:
The appearance of the street surrounding the ambulance on 7/20/2014, has been extensively documented by independent news websites. Based on this evidence, the street shown adjacent to the ambulance in the ISM video is not as it appeared on 7/20/14. Therefore, the video must have been made at a later date after the debris was removed. Shamaly, wearing a green shirt, is shown in the video walking down this same street on 7/20/14, which is clear of debris:
It can be concluded with great certainty that the ISM video was not made on 7/20/14, it was made at a later date. This would suggest that the entire incident was fabricated, staged.
FACT #2: Shamlay was not killed by an Israeli sniper. He was not shot multiple times.
In the video there are no wounds on his body.
The shots heard in the ISM video were not shots, they were sound effects created by using a squib, a device used in movie making to simulate rifle fire.
SUMMARY
The ISM video could not have been produced on 7/20/14. It would then follow that the alleged shooting of Shamaly documented in the video, could not have taken place on 7/20/14. The sound effects created by the squib, do not simulate the sound of an Israeli sniper rifle. In the video there are no wounds on what is alleged to be Shamlay’s body, wounds that would be observed on a body hit multiple times by an Israeli Lapua sniper rifle. The evidence suggests that the entire ISM video was staged and the shooting of Shamlay by an Israeli sniper, never took place.
