On July 20, 2014, an Israeli warplane launched a missile at a 3-story house belonging to Jameel Sha’ban Ziada, in which 20 people live, in al-Boreij refugee camp in central Gaza City. The house was destroyed and 6 members of the family, including two women and a child, and a guest were killed.

The names of those who were killed include:

• Jameel Sha’ban Ziada, 53 years old
• Bayan ‘Abdul Latif Ziada, 39 years old
• Yousef Sha’ban Ziada, 43 years old
• Omar Sha’ban Ziada, 32 years old
• Sha’ban Jameel Ziada, 12 years old
• Muftiya Mohammed Ziada, 70 years old
• Mohammed Mahmoud al-Maqadma, 30 years old

Sha’ban Jameel Ziada loved to sing and was a very shy performer. He had recently appeared on TV as a contestant in a Quran reciting show. The judges were very impressed by his performance and advanced him to the next round.

JAMEEL SHA’BAN ZIADA

Jameel Sha’ban Ziada was Sha’ban Jameel Ziada’s father. Based on his position in the gallery, second tier, he obviously held a very senior level position in the organization, at least equivalent to that of commander. Below are two photographs of Jameel, the one on the left, taken when he was younger. This is the photograph that appears in the gallery above. The other photo of Jameel (R) reveals his most likely appearance at the time of his death, age 53.

Of all the Qassamis in the third tier, Omar is the most prominent, dead center, and al-Maqadma is immediately to his right in the third tier. Maqadma was the “guest” in the Ziada house when it was targeted and destroyed. He was a senior figure in the Hamas’ military observation force.

Omar was 12 year old Sha’ban’s uncle who had introduced him to the operation of the Russian Dragunov sniper rifle, the weapon of choice for the Qassami. Of all the Qassimis, Omar was one of the most distinguished snipers.

SHA’BAN JAMEEL ZIADA

Sha’Ban Jameel Ziada was the son of Jameel Sha’ban Ziada. He was to be the next generation Qassami. Thanks to his uncle Omar, he was already familiar with the workings of the Dragunov sniper rifle.

الميلاد والنشأة

ولد الشهيد القائد الميداني القسامي عمر شعبان حسن زيادة، في مخيم البريج، وذلك بتاريخ 28/10/1982م، فعمت الفرحة أرجاء المنزل، وابتهج الوطن السليب مستبشراً بقدوم الفارس القسامي المنتظر، والذي سيحمل على عاتقه هم التحرير.
كان شهيدنا باراً بأمه فكانت تحبه حباً جماً، وكان الأقرب لقب أبيه؛ وذلك لأنه أصغر أبنائه سناً، وكان المميز من الأبناء لدى والديه، وعندما توفي والده أوصى الجميع بحسن معاملته ورعايته، وكان محبوباً ومدللاً من جميع إخوته وأخواته، يسعى لإرضاء الجميع وتلبية احتياجاتهم.
كما عهد على القائد الميداني زيادة معاملة الجميع بكل طيبة واحترام، كما أنه كان يمتلك روحاً مرحة جداً فكانت الابتسامة دوماً ترتسم على محياه، ويحب ممازحة الكبير والصغير، فكانت له مكانة كبيرة عند أهله وأقاربه وجيرانه؛ لما كان عليه من حسن الخلق وطيبة القلب.

دراسته وعمله

كان شهيدنا عمر جيداً في دراسته، وتلقى شهيدنا دراسته في المرحلة الابتدائية في مدرسة ذكور البريج الابتدائية_ج_، وأتم المرحلتين الإعدادية والثانوية كذلك في مدارس مخيم البريج، وكانت علاقته طيبة مع أصدقائه وزملائه في المدرسة، وكان مميزا لدى الجميع.
 وبعد إتمامه للمرحلة الثانوية، وحصوله على الشهادة، التحق بالجامعة الإسلامية كلية الشريعة والقانون، ولكنه لم يتم دراسته بسبب اندلاع انتفاضة الأقصى، والتحاقه بالمجاهدين، وفي عام 2012 أتم دبلوم مساعد قانوني من كلية العودة الجامعية. 
وكان شهيدنا يعمل ضمن القوة التنفيذية التابعة لوزارة الداخلية، ثم التحق بجهاز المكافحة _فرع الوسطى_، وكان مديرا للتحقيق فيه، وكان يؤدي عمله بكل أمانة وإخلاص وشهد له الجميع ممن عايشه في دوائر العمل بالتزامه وتفانيه في أداء مهامه.

ركب الدعوة

كان بدايات التزام الشهيد في المسجد خلال انتفاضة الأقصى، وفي عام 2003 التزم بالصلاة في المسجد الكبير، وكان حريصا على صلاة الجماعة، وعلى أداء صلاة الفجر في المسجد وفي الصفوف الأولى. 
وكان ملتزما جدا مع شباب المسجد، كما أنه كان في قمة التواضع، وكان كثيرا ما يمازح الشباب ولكن في حدود الأدب، بالإضافة إلى أنه كان يشارك في أنشطة المسجد من خلال اللجان، فكان عضوا في اللجنة الاجتماعية.
كان شهيدنا شديد الحب لوطنه، وللجهاد في سبيل الله، وكان يتمنى أن يخلص المقدسات من دنس الصهاينة، وكان يريد أن يحظى بهذه الكرامة، فرأى في حركة المقاومة الإسلامية حماس الحركة الأنسب والأطهر للدفاع عن المشروع الوطني، وكان شهيدنا برتبة نقيب وفق تسلسله الدعوي.

حياته الجهادية

انضم الشهيد عمر لكتائب القسام عام 2003، وذلك بعد انضمامه للجانب الدعوي، فأصر وألح على مواصلة طريقه الجهادي، فالتحق بالجانب العسكري، وكان شهيدنا مبادرا في الكثير من المهمات، كما أنه كان معطاء.
بعدها خاض شهيدنا العديد من الدورات العسكرية القسامية التي صقلت شخصيته العسكرية، وتدرج شهيدنا في المجال العسكري فبدأ بجندي وانتهى بقائد فصيل، وكان مرشحا ليصبح نائب قائد سرية، ولكن استشهاده حال دون ذلك، ولعل وصوله لهذه الرتبة كانت من سعي شهيدنا لتطوير نفسه، ورغبته الجامحة في الجهاد؛ لإعلاء كلمة الحق، فكان عند حسن ظن إخوانه به.
 ومن أكثر المجالات العسكرية التي عمل فيها شهيدنا مجال القنص، فكان مميزا فيه على مستوى اللواء، وشارك في عمليات قنص عديدة فترة الاجتياحات الصهيونية المتكررة شرق القطاع. 
ومن أبرز الصفات الجهادية التي تميز بها شهيدنا، والتي جعلت منه قائدا فذا، ونموذجا يحتذى به في طريق الجهاد: تواضعه، ومعاملته الحسنة مع الآخرين، فكان شهيدنا مهذبا وخلوقا جدا، فكان نعم القائد الميداني.
وكان في آخر أيامه، وتحديدا قبل ستة أشهر من استشهاده، يحضر الرباط بشكل دوري، من الساعة الثالثة حتى الخامسة فجرا، وكان لا يترك المكان حتى يصلي مع الشباب صلاة الفجر جماعة.
كما تطرقنا سابقا فإن تخصص شهيدنا كان القنص وكانت قدراته العسكرية كبيرة وعالية جدا، وعطاؤه الجهادي كان مميزا، وتخصصه هذا يحتاج منه إلى الصبر، فكان شهيدنا يمتاز بالصبر بدرجة كبيرة، وكان شهيدنا مسؤول تخصص القنص في السرية الثالثة، ثم انتقل إلى تخصص المشاة ليكمل فيه مشواره الجهادي حتى استشهاده رحمه الله.
ومن أبرز قصص شهيدنا الجهادية أنه كان يحتفظ بالطلقات الفارغة بعد استخدامها في عمليات القنص في الاجتياحات، ومن القصص أيضاً أنه تم أخذ سلاح القنص منه وتسليمه للنخبة العسكرية، فبكى بكاء مريرا؛ لأنه متعلق جدا بهذا السلاح، وطلب من قائد الكتيبة نقله مع سلاحه إلى النخبة العسكرية، وما زاد تعلقه بهذا السلاح هو أنه حمله من الشهيد محمد أبو عزب أبو عطية.
ومن الأعمال الجهادية التي تذكر لشهيدنا مشاركته في المناورات العسكرية القسامية، وكذلك الحراسة والرباط على الثغور، كما كان من المشاركين في حفر الأنفاق القسامية والإعداد والتجهيز برفقة إخوانه المجاهدين القساميين.

استشهاده

من الإيحاءات بقرب استشهاد عمر أنه زاد في طاعته وعبادته لله، وخصوصا في صلاة الفجر، وكان عازما على حفظ كتاب الله، وكان كثيرا ما يبكي ويطلب الانضمام إلى صفوف النخبة العسكرية؛ لأن العمل يرتكز عليها في الميدان. 
واستشهد عمر بعد أن تم استهداف بيته وعائلته بصاروخ من طائرة حربية في حرب العصف المأكول عام 2014، وعند انتشال جثته كان ساجدا لله، وهذه من أعظم الكرامات التي منحها الله للشهيد، كما أن وصيته كان لها تأثير في جمع كبير من الناس، ومن شدة حب الناس له وتأثرهم به قام كثير منهم بتسمية أبنائهم باسم عمر، رحمك الله يا عمر وأسكنك فسيح جناته.

One of the most prominent jihadist qualities that characterized our martyr, which made him a great leader, and a role model in the path of jihad: his humility, his good treatment with others, our martyr was very polite and creative, and he was the field commander.
In his last days, specifically six months before his martyrdom, he attended Rabat periodically, from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m., and did not leave until he prayed with the youths for the fajr prayer sals.
As we discussed earlier, the specialty of our martyr was sniping and his military capabilities were large and very high, and his jihadi giving was distinctive, and his specialty this needs patience, our martyr was characterized by patience to a great extent, and our martyr was responsible for the specialization of sniping in the third company, and then moved to the specialty of infantry to complete his journey The jihadist even his martyrdom.

One of the jihadi acts that reminds our martyr of his participation in the military exercises is the Qamayya, as well as the guard and rabat on the gaps, as well as he was a participant in the digging of the Qasami tunnels and preparing and equipping with his brothers, the Qasami mujahideen.

His martyrdom.
One of the suggestions that Omar was martyred was that he increased his obedience and worship to God, especially in fajr prayers, and was determined to memorize the Book of God, and he often cried and asked to join the ranks of the military elite, because the work was based on them in the field.
Omar was martyred after his house and family were targeted by a missile from a warplane in the war of storm ing in 2014, and when his body was recovered he was a sadfor god, and this is one of the greatest honors god has given to the martyr, as his will had an impact on a large gathering of people, and from the intensity of people’s love for him and their influence on him many of them named Their children are in the name of Omar, may God rest your soul, Omar, and i will live in the room of his paradise.

ميلادُ ليثِ المقاومة

في أحد البيوتِ الفلسطينية التي عانتْ وصبرت واحتسب، وقاومت الاحتلال الصهيوني، في مخيم البريج وسط غزة، كيف لا وهذه العائلة خرجت شيخ المجاهدين في فلسطين المفكر الدكتور إبراهيم المقادمة، انطلقت صرخاتُ طفلٍ في المهدِ، دوّت في أرجاء البيت، وعلت في سماء فلسطين، معلنة ولادة محمد محمود المقادمة، وذلك في الحادي عشر من سبتمبر من عام 1984م.
نشأ في عائلة متدينة يشهد لها بالجهاد في سبيل الله فكان من أبرز أعيانها المفكر الدكتور إبراهيم المقادمة  والذي كان شمسا فلسطينية أنارت درب الجهاد في فلسطين، وكان له أثر بالغٌ في إشعال الثورة في وجه الاحتلال الصهيوني، ففي هذه العائلة المجاهدة رباه أبواه على حب الأوطان والإيمان. 
عاش محمد – رحمه الله – تفاصيل انتفاضة الحجارة المباركة عام 1987، وشارك في إلقاء حجارة الغضب على جنود وجيبات الاحتلال الصهيوني، فثار على الظلم منذ طفولته، وعندما كبر كان عبوة ناسفة تنتظر لحظة الصفر للانفجار في وجوهِ الصهاينة. 
عرف عنه منذ طفولته بالتعلق في مسجد الشهيد والالتزام في الصلاة به، وفي الصفوف الأولى، كان يستمع إلى الدروس الدينية والمواعظ، ويخرج في مسيرات الشهداء، يلهب حنجرته في سبيل الله، مردداً شعارات الانتفاضة.

تعليمه وحياته

التحق بمدراس وكالة الغوث وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين، في المرحلتين الابتدائية والإعدادية، ثم أتم المرحلة الثانوية في مدرسة فتحي البلعاوي الثانوية للبنين، وواصل تعليمه الجامعي وتخرج في الجامعة الإسلامية عام 2008م.
تزوّج رحمه الله في العام 2006م من فتاة متدينة، وأنجب خمسة من الأولاد الذكور وبنت واحدة، ولعل قصة زواجهما أصبحت حديث الصحافة، حين عقد حفل زفافه في المسجد حيث جعل من يوم زفافه تجمع دعوي إذ اقتصر حفل زفافه على كلمة موعظة إيمانية وبعض أناشيد المديح النبوي.

تحت راية الجهاد

لا يهدأ له بالٌ، ولا يقر له قرار، حتى يحمل السلاح شاهره في وجه العدو المجرم، فمنذ صغره تمنى أن يصبحَ مقاوماً في سبيلِ الله، يقارع الاحتلال الصهيوني، ويخوض المعارك على تخوم غزة.
انضم شهيدنا – رحمه الله- إلى الجناح العسكري في عام 2003م أي بعد عامين من التحاقه بحركة المقاومة الإسلامية حماس ومبايعته لجماعة الإخوان المسلمين، حيث عرف عنه بالشجاعة والإقدام والحرص على النيل من الأعداء، شارك في التصدي للاجتياحات الصهيونية، إلى أن أصبح أحد أبرز فرسان الوحدة القسامية الخاصة في كتيبة البريج، كان مقاتلاً صنديداً في كل المعارك والمواقف، حريصاً على أرضه ومقدساته، مدافعاً عن كرامةِ شعبه، مرابطاً على الثغور، طالباً للشهادةِ في سبيلِ الله.
ومع تطور العمل العسكري بعد معركة الفرقان عام 2009م، تولى شهيدنا محمد مسئولية جهاز الرصد والاستطلاع في كتيبة البريج، فكان هو من يزود القيادة بكل المعلومات والتطورات على الحدود أولا بأول، ولعل من أبرز العمليات التي شارك في رصد الهدف وتحديده عملية استهداف جيب عسكري صهيوني شرق البريج بصاروخ موجه إبان معركة حجارة السجيل.

وتزينت الجنان

“محمد” العابدُ المجاهد في سبيلِ الله، دعا الله أن يرزقه الشهادة في سبيله في صلاته وقيامه ودعائه، وكان يطلب من أمه وإخوانه بأن يدعو له بالشهادة، فخرج في كل مكانٍ فيه رائحة شهادة لينالها، وفي النهاية كان له ما تمنى، صدق الله فصدقه. 
في خضم معركة العصف المأكول كان شهيدنا على موعد مع لقاء الله وهو صائم لربه في الشهر، ومع حلول عصر يوم الأحد الثاني والعشرين من رمضان، الثاني والعشرين من شهر يوليو من العام 2014م، استهدفت المقاتلات الحربية للعدو منزل يعود لعائلة زيادة فاستشهد محمد مع رفيق دربه عمر زيادة، وعدد من أفراد العائلة التي اشتهرت بحفظها للقرآن الكريم.
وارتقى شهيداً وفاضت روحه الطاهرة لربها، محلقة مع الأنبياء والصديقين والشهداء، وحسن أولئك رفيقاً، نحسبه من الشهداء الأتقياء الأنقياء المجاهدين السائرين على درب الهدى والمقاومة، من الذي ضحوا وصبروا وصابروا حتى أتتهم الشهادة مقبلين غير مدبرين.

Under the banner of jihad
There is no rest for him, and no decision is passed for him, until he carries his weapon in the face of the criminal enemy. Since his childhood he wished to become a resistance in the way of God, combats the Zionist occupation, and wages battles on the outskirts of Gaza.
Our martyr – may God have mercy on him – joined the military wing in 2003, two years after he joined the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas and pledged allegiance to the Muslim Brotherhood. The Qassamiyya Special in the Bureij Battalion, was a staunch fighter in all battles and stances, keen on its lands and sanctities, defending the dignity of its people, bound on the gaps, asking for martyrdom in the way of God.
With the development of military action after the Battle of Al-Furqan in 2009, our martyr Muhammad assumed the responsibility of the monitoring and reconnaissance apparatus in the Bureij Battalion, so he was the one who supplied the leadership with all the information and developments on the borders first-hand, and perhaps one of the most prominent operations that participated in monitoring the target and determining the process of targeting a Zionist military enclave east Al-Bureij with a guided missile during the Battle of Shale Stone.

Heaven is decorated
“Muhammed” is the servant of the Mujahid for the sake of Allah. He called God to give him martyrdom for his sake in his prayers, resurrection and supplications, and he asked his mother and brothers to call for him to testify, so he went out everywhere in the smell of martyrdom to receive it, and in the end he had what he wished, God believed and believed him .
In the midst of the eaten storm battle, our martyr was on a date with the meeting of God and he is fasting to his Lord in the month, and by the afternoon of Sunday, the twenty-second of Ramadan, the twenty-second of July of the year 2014 AD, enemy combat fighters targeted a house belonging to the Ziyada family, so Muhammad was martyred with Rafik his path Omar Ziyada, and a number of family members who are best known for memorizing the Holy Quran.
He rose as a martyr and his pure spirit was overflowing with her Lord, soaring with the prophets, the righteous and the martyrs, and these are good companions.

MILITARY ADVOCATE GENERAL

FFA MECHANISM

A General Staff Mechanism for Fact-Finding Assessments (the ‘FFA Mechanism’) examines Exceptional Incidents that occurred during Operation ‘Protective Edge’. The FFA Mechanism, headed by a Major General, was activated soon after the commencement of Operation ‘Protective Edge’, in the midst of the ongoing hostilities.

Allegation Regarding the Death of Seven Individuals as the Result of a Strike on a Building in Al-Bureij (20 July 2014)

In media reports it was alleged that on 20 July 2014, at around 14:00, seven members of the Ziyadeh family were killed as the result of an IDF attack on a building in Al-Bureij. The incident was subsequently referred to the FFA Mechanism for examination.

The factual findings collated by the FFA Mechanism and presented to the MAG indicate that on 20 July 2014, the IDF carried out an aerial strike on a structure that was being used as an active command and control center by the Hamas terror organization. The attack aimed to neutralize both the command and control center and the military operatives who were manning it, and who, according to information received in real-time, were involved in terror activity which threatened IDF forces operating in the area. It was further indicated, that the structure was also utilized by the military operative Mohammed Muqadama, a senior figure in Hamas’ military observation force.

In the course of the strike planning process it was assessed that the extent of the harm expected to result to civilians as a result of the attack would not be excessive in relation to the significant military advantage that was anticipated to result from a strike on the military command and control center and the military operatives who were manning it. The strike was planned for execution by means of a precise munition, and in a way which would allow for the strike’s objective to be achieved, whilst limiting the potential for collateral damage to surrounding buildings. It was further found, that it would not have been possible to provide a warning prior to the strike on the building, as such a warning was expected to frustrate the objective of the attack.
As noted above, it is alleged that as a result of the strike seven people were killed. Findings indicated that among the casualties were three military operatives in the Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror organizations, who were members of the Ziyadeh family, as well as the senior military operative mentioned above, Mohammed Muqadama.

After reviewing the factual findings and the material collated by the FFA Mechanism, the MAG found that the targeting processes in question accorded with Israeli domestic law and international law requirements.

The decision to strike was taken by the competent authorities, and the objects of the attack were military targets – an active command and control center and military operatives affiliated with the Hamas terror organization. The attack complied with the principle of proportionality, as at the time the decision to attack was taken it was considered that the collateral damage expected to arise as a result of the attack would not be excessive in relation to the military advantage anticipated to result from it. This estimation was not unreasonable under the circumstances.

Moreover, the attack was carried out in conjunction with various precautionary measures which aimed to mitigate the risk to civilians in the vicinity of the structure and minimize damage to adjacent structures. These measures included the selection of the munition used to carry out the strike, as well as the method by which the strike was carried out. It was also found that the provision of a warning to the residents of the building was not required by law, as such warning would have frustrated the objective of the attack. The fact that, in practice, civilians who were uninvolved in the hostilities were harmed, is a regrettable result, but does not affect the legality of the attack ex post facto.

In light of the above, the MAG did not find that the actions of IDF forces raised grounds for a reasonable suspicion of criminal misconduct. As a result, the MAG ordered the case to be closed, without opening a criminal investigation, and without any further steps to be taken against those involved.

INCIDENT SUMMARY

On July 20, 2014, an Israeli warplane launched a missile at a house belonging to Jameel Sha’ban Ziada. Six family members were killed together with a “house guest”, Mohammed Mahmoud al-Maqadma.

The Ziada house was being used as an active command and control center by the Hamas terror organization. The precision munition that executed the strike was designed to limit collateral damage to surroundings buildings. The attack by the precision weapon on the Ziada house aimed to destroy the command and control center in the structure and the terror operatives who were manning it.

Based on intelligence information received in real-time, Hamas combatants in the house were involved in terror activity which threatened IDF forces operating in the area.

Based on an English translation of an Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades webpage, it was documented that Omar Ziada, a Qassami, a terror combatant and an occupant of the house was a distinguished sniper in his brigade.

The “house guest” al-Maqadma, had assumed the responsibility of the monitoring and reconnaissance apparatus in the battalion: “… he was the one who supplied the leadership with all the information and developments on the borders first-hand.” This English translation is from his webpage on the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades website.

The missile attack on the Ziada house was also aimed at killing Mohammed al-Maqadma, a senior figure in Hamas’ military observation force who utilized the structure for the purpose of gathering military intelligence for the terror combatants in the field.

After the strike it was found that in addition to al-Maqadma, the casualties included three military operatives in the Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror organizations, all members of the Ziada family. They would have been Jameel Sha’ban Ziada, Yousef Sha’ban Ziada, and Omar Sha’ban Ziada.

The fact that civilians who were uninvolved in the hostilities were harmed, was regrettable but it did not affect the legality of the attack. The three family members who were killed were Bayan ‘Abdul Latif Ziada, Muftiya Mohammed Ziada, and Sha’ban Jameel Ziada.

CREATING FALSE NARRATIVES WITH PHOTOGRAPHS

The original Humanize Palestine website routinely did this, the photographs of the Palestinian ‘martyrs’ on their website concealed their terror organization affiliation. Omar Sha’ban Ziada was example of this.

The photograph on the right is who Ziada really was, a terror operative combatant. This is the Ziada who appears on the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades website, the Ziada who  started with a soldier and ended up as a faction leader, and was a candidate to become deputy commander of a company ,… One of the most important military areas in which our martyr worked was the field of sniping, in which he was distinguished at the level of the brigade, and participated in many sniping operations ….

The photograph of Sha’ban Jameel Ziada on the left is how he is portrayed on the original Humanize Palestine website, his family’s terror organization affiliation concealed, he loved to sing and was a very shy performer. He had recently appeared on TV as a contestant in a Quran reciting show. The judges were very impressed by his performance and advanced him to the next round.

The photograph on the right demonstrates what he really loved, who he really was, a member of a family devoted to the ideology of Hamas and the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades. This is the Sha’ban Jameel Ziada who appears on the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades website:

THE GUEST

The “guest” in the Ziada family home, Mohammed Mahmoud al-Maqadma, was an Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades terror operative, an associate of Omar. This fact is concealed by the original Humanize Palestine website narrative.

Maqadema, the “guest”, had “assumed the responsibility of the monitoring and reconnaissance apparatus in the Bureij Battalion, so he was the one who supplied the leadership with all the information and developments on the borders first-hand.” This is what he was doing in the Ziada family home and this is why the house was targeted by the IDF.

HAMAS / IZZ AL-DIN AL-QASSAM BRIGADES FUNDRAISING SCHEME

Prior to August 2020, the Hamas and Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades websites had a green banner at the top of their home page. This is how the home page of Hamas’ TV station, al-Aqsa TV, appeared on March 16, 2020:

The green banner contained an embedded URL that linked to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades website. Clicking on the green banner would open this webpage:

This was a fund raising scheme utilizing cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, to underwrite its terrorism (“resistance”). Note that the solicitation is in English. This would indicate that the fund raising scheme not only targeted Arabic speaking countries but English speaking western countries as well, such as the U.S.

In August 2020, the U.S. government seized the website, funds and assets:

The original Humanize Palestine website memorialized Hamas, al-Qassam Brigades terror operatives and their families, the Ziada family was one example. In their own words, they honored the deceased terror operatives and their families as martyrs by bringing them back to life through their pictures, stories, art, and poetry.

Now the victims of these terror operatives have been honored. The U.S. Department of Justice has seized al-Qassam Brigades assets, funds and websites, used to finance their terror campaigns. The monies will be directed to the United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund.
